Faasio, I reverted back to version 4.28.0.8 and needed to "restore" my camera's. I'm not having any problems so far using this older version app. I didn't have any success with 4.29.0.6 version.I'm sticking with 4.28, I don't think it's worth the aggravation to update. You don't get any newer features with the update that make any significant difference in my opinion.
Hello Fiona,Phone model is Samsung Galaxy A51, model # SM-S515DLRunning Android 11Update: After removing Reolink app v4.29.0.6 and restoring v4.28.0.8 (the last good working app),I was able to gain push notifications back by "Restoring" camera by going to "Settings>Advanced>Restore" and going thru the initialize process again.I then had to reset all my camera settings including turning on "push" setting because it defaults to OFF.Everything seems stable now as it was before the .0.6 update.Another poster ,Dugan, also confirmed that Restore was suggested by tech support.
I can confirm that the version .06 "fix" does not fix the issues created from .05.1. Still do not receive any push notifications,2. Still experience a clipped view when rotating phone from vertical to horizontal (most times, not all)3. PIR button is still too small to seeAlso noticed that when turning ON or OFF PIR from within camera setting page, when you back out to the list of camera's page, the PIR button does not reflect the setting you just made.
I am getting frustrated with every update to Reolink software. It seems that more often than not, you break something that was working fine. For me, I was using app version 4.28.0.8 for Android. It was OK and everything was working fine. Unfortunately, my phone automatically updated the app to version 4.29.0.5and now I have a set of new issues to deal with. I uninstalled the app, then reinstalled and had to add 11 camera's back on. Don't ask me to try changing this setting and that setting, because everything was good the way it waswith the previous version. It's whatever changed in the new version that created these issues.Issue 1: "PIR" button is too small, in my opinion, to see. It's also hard to see if it is set to "on" (Blue) or not because it is so small. The old button was much easier to see. Please revert back to the old way.And do we really need that stupid symbol in the middle of the screen. The words "Not connected" is sufficient enough.Issue 2: When rotating phone horizontally, this is what happens most of the time...Then when I rotate back to vertical, this is what happens most of the time...Please test updates thoroughly before you release them. I would like to also see a way to revert back to the last good working versionbe made available to users if they would like to step back into the last version. Is there a way to install the previous version software?
Fiona,Just a follow up on the subject of not being able to add camera's to the client software version 8.5.1. This problem has been fixed with the release of client version 8.7What ever was changed in the code with 8.7 now allows me to add the camera's. I guess this will remain a mystery. The important thing is that it is now fixed. Thanks
Thank you Lorenz, that worked for me.
Can anyone tell me how to switch between Clear and Fluent using the new Client 8.7 software when in Live View? I don't seem to see any button or menu selection to do it.The only area I see to change this is on the Playback page which I'm not sure that that affects the Live View. Thank you
No you're not alone. I'm getting it too!!
Hello Fiona,Yes I've tried all of your suggestions except downgrading to the older client. To summarize, these cameras I want to add are already on my home network and are accessible from my phone app. They are not new cameras I'm trying to add but they are already connected cameras. I was using windows client 8.3.0 without a problem. In 8.3.0, when adding them to the client, I was able to do exactly what I am trying to do now with 8.5.1. using the UID method. Further, when I input the UID number and press "Next", I am informed that"I am adding a battery camera". I answer "OK", next window gives me a choice of "Connect to WiFi" or "Access Camera". I choose to "Access Camera", then the client tries to add the camera but an Error window pops up stating "Error Connection Failed".Hope this is clearer. Thanks
Crimp On - The Scan option terminates with "Error, No devices found". Trying with the IP method gives the same results. I have added 8 cameras at a different house using the UID method and had no problem. These cameras are in my local network at my home and they are not recognised. Thanks
