No point in keep asking for a Linux client, Reolink are mostly deaf to customer feedback/requests.They have so many issues outstanding with their Android app on a tablet that have been around for years and they've not bothered to fix. So I see very little chance of them ever developing their client for Linux. You are far better off going for a setup that isn't Reolink. If you've ever used their Windows/Android software (and even their camera/NVR web interfaces) it's all pretty poor with features that should be there, but aren't; poor layout, far too touchy/random swipe responses, forgetting settings, firmware updates that kill their hardware or require you to hard reset it and re-setup the device from scratch and on and on. So they clearly don't have a high quality development team. I could fill pages with all the bugs and annoyances I've experienced with their software over the (now over 7) years I've used their cameras. I have a 16 channel Reolink NVR and 8 active cameras (probably used more than 15 over the years) so I'm not just raining criticism on Reolink without experience. Their hardware is mostly decent (their Trackmix cameras are excellent), but it's all sadly let down by very low quality software. If you just want cameras and a dedicated NVR then you should be OK, but if you want to do anything exotic - like heaven forbid use Linux as your daily OS which I do - then you're out of luck unless you want to jump through WINE loops and such. Ironic really when you can bet their camera hardware OS is Linux based. So for all those asking, by all means carry on, but you'd have a more productive day banging your head against the wall. I'd be delighted if Reolink proved me wrong and over night first developed some decent software and then secondly a Linux client, but I very, VERY much doubt they ever will.
@joseph_1979 I don't run Windows. I only run Linux. I therefore always apply firmware updates from the camera's own web interface. That is how I do it on all my Reolink cameras - I have a number of RLC410 cameras as well. I've never experienced any issues applying firmware updates this way. I really hope you aren't now saying that Reolink firmware updates can only be applied through a Windows app??? That would be very short sighted.I applied your latest firmware to my Trackmix cameras via their web interface. The firmware has applied fine, but as I said, on my phone the Tracking video feed won't display. The wide angle feed displays OK, but not the tracking feed. It just sits there with the spinning logo and "Loading stream...". It does load sometimes, but with very laggy/choppy video and corrupt audio.I have thankfully just found an incredibly useful Github site that provides links to previous Reolink camera and NVR firmware images. I had to go back all the way back to the original July 2022 firmware (v3.0.0.1123_22071300) and apply that before my cameras worked correctly again. Your latest Trackmix firmware(s) clearly have some issue when loading the Tracking stream with my setup. It would be very useful if Reolink provided previous versions of their firmware on their download site rather than only the newest version.
After applying the latest Trackmix firmware (v3.0.0.1817_23022700) I can no longer reliably connect to the high quality Tracking stream on either of my cameras from the Reolink app on my Android phone.Phone is Android 13, latest Reolink app, good Wifi connection on phone and both my Trackmix cameras are PoE wired.Whenever I try to view the clear Tracking stream the app just sits there saying "Loading stream...". It does connect sometimes (maybe 1 in 10 times), but when it does the video is choppy and very laggy, PTZ control is uesless because of the lag, audio is choppy and it's generally broken. This has only happened since the firmware update.1) Is anyone else seeing these issues with the latest firmware on Trackmix cameras?2) Does anyone have access to the previous firmware and can you go backwards? This latest firmware has just rendered both of my Trackmix cameras useless.Help!
Please help!I need to quickly downgrade to the previous version to make my cameras usable again. Can you direct me to the previous version of the firmware? I don't know the exact version number, but it was the original one that came with the camera and I think was dated July 2022.I have (stupidly) applied this new firmware to my two Trackmix cameras and now the Android app (Android 13, latest version of the Reolink app, excellent Wifi connection, cameras are PoE connected) is failing to connect to the high quality Tracking stream. Sometimes it will connect but the video is incredibly slow and the audio is choppy. It connects to the wide angle stream OK. It connects to the fluent Tracking stream OK, but not the high quality one. The high quality Tracking stream is the most useful stream. This wasn't happening before I applied the firmware update. There is clearly a problem with this firmwareI would warn everyone else against applying this update as it clearly has some issues.
Thank you Bernd! You're a star.It didn't even cross my mind to clear the browser cache, but I just cleared it and can now get into settings again from the browser.I read your message just after I logged a support call Back to nearly normal. Now all I have to wait for is Reolink to produce a firmware that doesn't need Adobe Flash!Anyway, thank you again!
I downloaded and applied firmware upgrade 448_19061407 to one of my RLC-410-5MP (IPC_51516M) cameras and now I can't get into camera settings from the camera's web interface. I just get a message saying "Reloading. App detected that firmware of your device has been upgraded, now it will reload this App." whenever I hit the gears icon. Screen shot of error message attached.I have tried rebooting the camera, but it still gives me the same error.I need to know how I can now downgrade the firmware on this camera as I can't get into the maintenance menu firmware section any more from the web interface and I can't maintain firmware from the awful Android app.Help!20190906_083230.jpg
