Not sure where to start, with the Android problem or Windows problem. Okay, I'll save the Android for another post. Bought a new computer today that has Windows 11. Installed the 8.11 client because that works best on my Windows 10, installed it, and NO DEVICES FOUND. Looked at my Android to see if the camera was working, and it's just spinning, trying to load the stream. No wait, that's not the problem. The Android IS sending out alerts, seeing and recording events, it just won't load the stream. (New phone and hasn't loaded stream since new phone three days ago). So, I hook up my old Windows 10, and everything works. I know the camera is working, I am on the same network with both computers, in fact, all physical connections the same,POE, but for some crazy reason, with the Windows 11 computer, it does not find the camera. I do know some local IP addresses have changed, so maybe that has something to do with it? Shouldn't it still see it, no matter? Any ideas out there? (We'll save the Android problem till later). Edited to add that the internet IS being seen, as the client prompts me to download the newest version.
@joseph_1979 Okay, I did that and now I have lag and sound issues with my camera. Not saying the DirectX did it, could just be this client. I was hoping the bugs were worked out of it by now. I guess I'll go back to the last one. Too bad, this one does look to be promising. Maybe they'll put out one that works correctly soon. Just now noticed after closing it, I start hearing the sound for a couple of seconds.
@joseph_1979 Install it? You mean put the files in a folder? I put them in the Reolink Folder and it still gives me the message. I don't have an option to actually "install" something to a predefined directory. Microsoft has DirectX integrated into Windows now, and we shouldn't have to be "installing" 23 year old versions of DirectX. I'm getting a lot of warning bells out of this one.
@bnkuder_41107750744308 That didn't work. I already had connected audio and video anyway. Everything worked fine to start with, except the error message.
Please fix your cart on your refurbished page. I tried checking out with two different browsers and all I could do was add. I could never view or check out.
Hello, I have an RLC-823A set up to patrol at night. I have three presets that I want to use, and two of them have areas I need to block out detection on. I set up up the first preset, tested it, and it blocked what I needed. Great! When I went to my next preset, it has the same area that I blocked for my first preset, which will not work for me. I fear that if I edit it, it's going to edit the first present that I set up, which will make patrolling and detection kind of useless for what I actually need. Is there a way to make it work where I can have different presets blocking different areas on the screen? Am I missing something? Thanks for any advice.
@mattyman174_406498937815293 Not sure how this works, being I only have one internet connection, and it is not what I would call high speed. I get around 15 mbps, and when I do a fresh install their software defaults to "fluent" for viewing. I set it to "clear" and get a much better picture, with no problems recording and functioning as the hardware is designed. That tells me that the default for me is incorrect. It could be that everyone defaults to "fluent" for viewing, but that would make no sense if that is the case. When I go to "Playback" mine is always "low" as the default. That really makes no sense to me at all, because it is recorded at much better quality, and looks much better when I reset it to "high" before viewing and/or downloading. I keep thinking there must be a way to set the default on playback to high, but I haven't found it yet. A logical thing to do, would be for it to default to what the recorded file is. It only makes sense for them to match. In essence, if they are determining the defaults through software, they need to look at it again as my connection beats what their software defaults to. And I get really tired of having to set my playback back to high every time I want to view or download.
@mattyman174_406498937815293 Not sure why they mess with it. Leave ALL defaults clear and let people change if needed. I still don't know why playback is defaulted to the worst. Glad I haven't bought any more cameras yet.
What's new? Skippy looking video on occasion and audio that goes in and out. I've seen a few instances where it looks like frames are missing. People are walking and are all of a sudden several steps ahead of where they should be. As far as audio, it comes and goes as far as listening. I do not talk over it. Back to the previous client!
@mamymam2013_465350299701478 They couldn't tell me the specs of the screws used for the SD card cover onthe 823A. That told me something and I decided at that point not to purchase any more cameras. Now I'm seeing software problems, and their only concern is developing new hardware. Things aren't looking good for them.
@nacster_1969 I'm glad I'm not heavily invested. They're setting themselves up for a fail.
Snapshots did not work correctly for me. The bottom of each was filled with distortion of some sort. Went back to 8.8.5 and snapshots work correctly again.
@ks Thanks. Totally different interface than I had before today, but the clearer and more sharp than ever.
My user experience is ruined after this morning's update to 8.10.2.It seems that changing resolutions has no effect. My time and date are now huge across my screen and the picture is less clear. It would be nice to have an option to immediately roll back to the previous version.
