I am having some issues getting my wired IP camera to connect to my existing house network. I am currently using a Watchguard Firewall Router with LAN set to DHCP then out to an ethernet switch.

I plug in the camera's network cable and the Reolink POE injector and the camera powers up ok but will not accept nor request an IP. I have tried multiple reboots of the router, the ethernet switch and the camera. I spent days.

Then I decided to try my 4G router on T-Mobil. I plug in the camera and it comes right up no problem. I then plug in the camera/POE into my wifi router and ity comes right up as well.

As soon as I plug back in to the ethernet switch via the WG router nothing.

Anybody have a suggestion as this is quite frustrating? I assume it has something to do with my WG router or some kind of conflict with the 20 other devices on my network? My camera is mounted 25' up on my house so it is not easy to access at this time. I currently have it running through the wifi router's DMZ but I need to add it to Blue Iris on the home network with my other IP cameras.

I found out the issue and I wanted to follow up with this in the event someone else has the same issue. For some reason my Reolink Trackmix camera could/would not obtain an IP from my Watchguard Firewall's DHCP server. I am not quite sure why as leases are available to other devices on my network no problem and works well, but for some odd reason would not work with my IP camera.

I reserved an IP address with my camera's MAC address in my firewall and the camera came right up. All is well.

@user_725429948465352_725429948465352 Can you show us the DHCP config on the WG router? Try to capture a Wireshark trace on the ingress of the WG and see what's going on?

Attached is DHCP setup screenshot from Watchguard Router. IPv6 is disabled, no other settings under Secondary, MAC address control, nor advanced. The DHCP does work with any device I plug into the switch but not the Reolink Trackmix CAM. I am able to view the DHCP leases on the WG as soon as the hardware is plugged in.

I did once see the CAM when I power cycled the ethernet switch but it only lasted for about 6 hours. The access to the camera was sluggish to the point there was so much lag it was not usable. I rebooted the WG, the switch, and even toggles the power to the CAM but I never got it back.

I went so far to replace the ethernet switch as it was over 10 years old with a new Trendnet 16 port switch. Then I purchased a small POE switch to replace the Reolink injector in case that was faulty still no go coming up on my home network. As soon as I plug in a wifi router to switch the camera comes right up

I will red up up and try the wireshark trace. I have the software. I am just not that familiar how it works.

@maro Thank you for the quick reply and suggestions. I feel confident the WG router is affecting this.

I have been through the firewall policy settings and nothing stood out to me. The WG router is used to establish a VPN with my work office and the settings are mostly managed by the IT folks but I can access it.

Regarding the router blocking access to the Reolink servers is a good point and I will look at that now. If this was true, you think it would prevent the camera from obtaining an IP?

I believe I do notice an IP in the arp table that perhaps is the camera but has a mac address as all zeros (00:00:00:00:00:00) if that's any sign?

All other devices on my network are either static or DHCP and obtaining leases no problem. I have two other IP cameras (Pelco and Canon) functioning normally with no conflict or ports.

I was thinking of taking out the WG router temporarily and replacing with a spare wifi router as a last resort.

I will investigate further and have IT take a peek this coming work week.
