@bigdaddy_771512482971796 I just received my M521 doorbell from Aliexpress and can confirm that it DOES pair with the Reolink doorbell. No instructions with it but there are instructions on the internet. Mine came with an EU plug as I don't think they have one with an Australian plug but adaptors are available. It has 3 volumes, right up to very loud, 57 melodies and will pair with more than one button. They seem to have different prices but I paid around AUD $6.50 delivered to Australia in about 2 weeks.
@sdeweb31_707475180433633 So you say that this chime will pair with the Reolink Doorbell. Is that correct?
I have a POE doorbell but I can't hear it when I am downstairs. If I buy another complete doorbell can I just use the chime and keep the camera as a spare. I want both chimes to ring when someone presses the bell. I know you can't buy the chime separately which is a pity.
@joseph_1979 I did that when I got the NVR. It does not explain everything. I will go through it again and get back to you.
I have a Reolink NVR RLN8-410 and now I have figured out how to use it I reckon it's great. But I have a couple of questions you experts may be able to help with. When I am in playback mode, what is the purpose of the green line? Also there are 3 boxes, Alarm, Normal and None. What are they for. Thanks
@joseph_1979 Thanks Joseph. I understand now. I bought an E1 and just finished installing it. It works fine on wifi so I will probably leave it at that unless I have problems.
@joseph_1979 Does this mean that with this splitter (12 volt one) I can use an ethernet cable in a spare port of my RLN8-410 or must it plug into the router. I have just bought an E1 Outdoor and got it working fine on wifi but I would prefer it to run from ethernet.
@joseph_1979 Yes, it seems to work now but if I tick Person as well as Visitor it stops the Push working. I don't need Person anyway so that's not a problem as long as it keeps working. But I can't trust it. I will do further testing and try to see why it is intermittant and post back here. I think booting the Home 5G modem may have fixed it. I had tried that before with a power reset to no avail but this time I re-booted it by accessing it from my PC.
The sound from the RCA plug is so low and I can't find anywhere if it should connect to an amp, a pre-amp or directly to an 8 ohm (eg) speaker. The level is just as bad if I use the HDMI connection to my TV which then has to be on 100 to hear anything. Is my NVR faulty? And, yes, I do have the sound ticked ON and the latest firmware.
@joseph_1979 The Push now seems to work when it feels like it. I rebooted my 5G Home WIFI modem and I think that is what got it going. I have changed no settings for the cameras or DVR. When I press the doorbell sometimes I get a notification straight away and sometimes later. (or even not at all) Most annoying. Also when I use the Test Notification feature on the app it never works. Has anyone been able to make that work. Note I have an Android phone.
@joseph_1979 I got this working and now it has stopped. On my android phone with the Reolink app when I press Push Note. it does not change. However if I had turned it off on the NVR and app will have turned it on. I only want it for the doorbell when someone presses it. It did work twice after I took your advise and now its stopped. I even put the app on another Android phone and it did the same. Any ideas?
@user_756125119496374_756125119496374 Another question not relating to Doorbell. When a motion is detected shouldn't it keep recording for x minutes after the motion stops. I have set, Settings. Surrveillance, Record,Settings, Extend Rec Time after motion event ends to 5 minutes. When I play back and set 'alarms only' the event playbacks are still only short. The NVR is recording 24/7 anyway so does it mean that the motion will only play while the event is happening despite the 5 minute setting as the rest is being recorded anyway.
@joseph_1979 Does Visitor mean when someone presses the bell, nothing to do with movement detection, because if so that is exactly what I want. Thanks for your help. Look out for my posts. I have a few more questions and you seem to know a bit about it.
Is there any way the doorbell can give a Push Notification when the button is pushed but not when movement is detected. I still want the movement detection on but not to give me a notification. The doorbell is POE connected to my RLN8-410 both with the latest firmware.
@joseph_1979 Yes, I have the latest firmware which I downloaded to try to fix this problem. It is v3.3.0.282_23103128. I was hoping someone had successfully used the sound output using the RCA plug or the HDMI and found the volume ok, in which case my NVR could be faulty. I know it is soft because if I plug the output of my PC into my sound system it is heaps loud. I then leave the sound system on the same setting and plug in the DVR and it is way soft. (only one at a time of course) Maybe someone else could try that same test. Also though, if I access the DVR with the client on my PC the volume is fine. As a technician myself it just seems there could be something wrong in the sound output part of the DVR.
Has anyone noticed the sound level from this NVR is very low either from the Audio jack or the HDMI jack. Using the HDMI to the TV I need to have the TV volume almost at maximum to hear anything. Yes the sound is ticked ON or I would get no sound at all. This is the same on live view or playback.
@joseph_1979 Thanks. How can I play the files without taking the SD out of the camera. Using the Reolink client the only option when looking at STORAGE is FORMAT and MOUNT. (What is MOUNT)
I have got my 2 Lumus cameras working well. Each have a 16GB SD card and I can play them from the Android mobile app and my Windows 10 client. Neither of these make it too easy to find a particular file (via the time eg.) Is there a better PC client to use. Also if I take the SD card out of the camera and plug it into the PC what can I use to play the files?
