Just bought a couple of Reolink Cameras that come with the waterproof lid.

I'm a bit mystified though. The lid when fitted only covers the network connection cable and it leaves the power and reset cables open to the elements. Doesn't this make the cameras open to rain and moisture.

I know you can purchase a mount to tick the cable into and make it neater but they cost £25 each so that's almost the price of another camera.

      Am I missing something?

I believe you are entirely correct. The power and reset cables are not waterproof. What I did when mounting RLC cameras outdoors was drill a hole in the wall either behind the camera mount or close to it and stuff all of the cables through the hole so that they are inside the wall, and caulk the hole. (I also do not mount cameras where they are directly exposed to rain.)

I would not be comfortable mounting Reolink cameras where the power and reset cables are exposed to the elements

Some buy plastic junction boxes for electric wires and use them to hide the cable. You can get them at hardware stores. There is a YouTube video by LifeHackster that shows how to to this.

I found a quick fix for this.
If you've got a Covid lateral flow test kit, they include a small plastic test tube.
The tube is just the right size to push firmly onto the reset button and protect it from the weather.
