I recently abandoned another vendors product line after they finally released long-delayed new cameras that ended up not working with their excellent app. These new cams were also a huge step back in technology. So, I bit the bullet and installed a PoE based system, switch, and an NVR to replace the cloud based storage which was also poorly supported with ex-vendors new products.
I'm sure you have a number of people who are coming over to Reolink based on similar experience.
Anyway, I would like the ability to scrub though the video stream on playback. It would be great if the App (iPhone, MAC) allowed you to scrub through video both forward and backward with an input pointer (mouse, pen or finger). That way I can get to alarms and scrub back and forth to analyze the stream. We had gun shots in our neighborhood and I wanted to analyze the stream and quickly forward and reverse if something looked interesting.
Also, some form of geostreaming would be great. Both Android and Apple has the ability to share location information. It would be wonderful if I could set up alert profiles for "Home" & "Away".
Thanks for listening....Reply QuoteShare3- Share this Post

@mick94115_491629178327178 Could you please give me more information about the video scrubbing?
For the Home & Away mode, it can't be judged by the location now. You can use the scene mode to manually control the Home & Away mode. You can know more here, https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360026049414-What-is-Scene-Mode-and-How-to-Set-the-Scene-Mode-for-Your-Cameras-on-Reolink-App.
I will forward your request to the product team to seek possibilities. -
@reolink-fiona
Thanks for the pointer to setting up scene modes. It looks like a decent framework and once you do support geofencing it would fit right in as a way of switching between home and away without the need to do it manually.
Instead of doing through a detailed explanation I've attached a screen capture video to demonstrate something that is very common. Any of your engineers or product managers who deal with video will get it.

Thank you for your feedback. Do you fail to attach the video? I can't see that. -
@reolink-fiona
Well.... it says I don't have enough "privileges" to be able to upload. Nor can I put a link into the response. *sigh* -
@mick94115_491629178327178 The video uploading feature is still improving. You can try to upload the video again. I have changed the setting.
For some links, we can't put them posted because there are many advertisements in the forum now. We will try to improve the features. You can send the link to me via private message. -

About 50 seconds into this video is the scrubbing feature I think @mick94115_491629178327178 is referring to. This is extremely useful.

@schonuf Thank you so much for your video.

@schonuf
Thanks this it a perfect illustration of scrubbing.... The current ability methods to search are almost unusable. Adding a 15 sec skip forward, skip back would even be a useful feature. - 21 days later

@mick94115_491629178327178 Great! Thanks for your video ^^ Fall Guys is a well-liked game that attracts a large number of players.

@Reolink-Fiona The video scrubbing ability within the NVR would also be a nice addition, demonstrated in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAn5BOkUM1Q

I too agree this is a must have and needed feature request. I too have migrated from another camera system (Nest cameras) and the mobile app experience of being able to scrub/scroll through time is a huge needed feature for the Reolink app. It helps you easily scroll through time on a timeline to find an event. Especially with my use in my business. Please add this feature!
