Adding a Hard Drive

We are in the process of installing an RLK16-800B8 system with an additional RLC-823A thrown in for good measure. I understand that I can add a second hard drive to the 4TB that is already installed in the NVR. My question is, am I limited as to what I can add by the size of the existing (4TB) drive? Can I add a 6TB drive to the system and wind up with a total capacity of 10TB?

For 16 channel nvr system( RLN16-410), it has two situations.
#1, For the 4mp/5mp version 16channel nvr system(H3MB02), it supports three HDDs: two internal and one via eSata; the single HDD capacity is up to 4TB, and total up to 12 TB.
#2, For the new hardware versions( H3MB18) 4k version 16 channel nvr system, it supports two HDDs: two internal since there isn't an eSATA port for this version nvr system. The single HDD capacity is 6TB, in total up to 12TB.

@reolink-fiona Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, I wasn't clear as to what I was asking. I am accustomed to using RAID systems and other configurations with multiple hard drives. In many circumstances, the drive that can be added has to match the size of the existing drive. That is the essence of my question. Is the multiple drive configuration used for the NVR a JBOD format, or some form of RAID format? Can I add any size drive up to 6TB?

@reolink-fiona so, it's possible to combine the 4TB HDD that is pre-installed with a new 6TB HDD so at the end I can have 10 TB of storage?

@bbcorrales_586529537052682 It can be any size up to the limit of your NVR which I think is 6TB per port. From the NVR point of view these are considered as distinct HDD. Ensure that what you buy is surveillance class HDD.
