Thanks a lot to all! So my understanding is to just wait for the next big finware version? So when would that be due approximately?
However, the funny point being that I bought both cameras from Amazon just one day apart and they came just as it is (the first one with the newer firmware, though :)) So how can it be that a firmware that is as per Reolink 'still in testing' is installed by the same guys on the final product sold? In my humble opinion (and outside the quantum world) it can be either or 'still in testing' or 'rolled out'...
Cheers

Hi there!
I have bought two Reolink cameras -- both being (identical) E1 Outdoor with the same hardware version IPC_523SD8.
Now interestingly both have different build numbers (22071306 and 21120806) and different firmware versions (v31.0.989_22071306 vs. v3.0.0.748_21120806) and both are claiming that their firmware is up to date when trying to update in the Reolink app.
So how can that be - and how can I get the second one to the newer Firmware version?
Thanks a ton in advance!
Cheers

@stef The first one has the most recent firmware. The second one has to be upgraded. All you need to do is to email Reolink support to provide you with the newest stable firmware. Don't forget to include the HW version as there are several E1 OD HW versions. To upgrade it you need to use the Windows/Mac client. Auto upgrade on Reolink products is not activated on the server side unless Reolink engineer pushes the upgrade to your profile. Their customer care is quite efficient and will reply within two working days.

@Stef
Hello.
Well, I have the E1 Outdoor with firmware v3.1.0.956_22041506 and when asking about v3.1.0.989_22071306 they told me from support that it is still in testing.
The camera with v3.0.0.748_21120806 could be updated to firmware v3.1.0.956_22041506.
Lucky that you have the camera with the firmare v3.1.0.989, you will tell us what news you find.
Cheers.

@stef The functions of this two firmware are nearly the same. You can also wait for next big version firmware to update.

@reolink-fiona Hi Fiona, now that you've announced it don't leave us so I can't stop thinking about it, can you please tell us the release date of that new version and some details?

@alvaro2 Why lucky. I have it too :).

@reolink-fiona Please ensure with the team that the firmware will be rigorously tested before being launched to the general public. Recall that members (like Alvaro :)) will be willing to assist in the testing.

@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 Hello!
Lucky because I had the 956 and did not know the existence of the 989. They have already passed me the new firmware and the camera is already working with the 989.
Cheers.

@alvaro2 Good. But the problem of the guard point deviation will never be solved. I also noticed that in total darkness the E1 OD is not so sensitive even though the sensitivity is set to high. At day time it's brilliant though. So they need to optimize the detection during total darkness. The integrated IR seems to be inadequate. I can add an external illumination to it but this is not the appropriate solution.

@stef Please email Reolink support and ask them for the recent firmware for E1 OD. Just include the hardware version. Keep cameras and clients updated.
I guess they were from different batches. But anyhow it is easy to upgrade once you have the file.

In the Reolink app, find and access the settings (Settings) or device management (Device Management). Find the camera's current software version and check if a newer update is available.
