      Camera Model RLC-812A.
In night mode with motion sensor spotlight set to auto I am trying to get them to only turn on with motion in the evening. During the day I wish for the spotlight to never come on. Is this possible

@user_593516329885771_593516329885771 Yes, if you enable the night mode and set it to Auto, the spotlight will be on when it detects the alarm at night. It won't be on in the day.

@reolink-fiona With the settings shown in the screen shot, and with having auto selected for night mode under 'Audio and Light' the light is still coming on during the day with motion.

@user_593516329885771_593516329885771 It seems that the night mode has no effect at all. Can you try to switch to always on and switch off Night mode and then select Auto and switch on Night mode? Sometimes we the programmers are too logical. I guess you are using the NVR. Can you check the values through the Reolink Android client? Did you try to restore the camera?

@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 Unfortunately I don't have access to an android device. When I turn off Night Mode the options for Auto, Always On, and On as Scheduled disappear. They reappear when I turn Night Mode back on. I reset the camera to default settings and the problem persists.

@user_593516329885771_593516329885771 In night mode, spotlight should only lit during the dark. Try to email Reolink support to further diagnose the issue.

@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 I am also in contact with them, I'm having little luck. Out of curiosity how does Night Mode work? Is there a light sensor in the camera to tell if it's day time, does it have its own internal settings based on how the clock is set in the NVR? What does Night Mode do?

@user_593516329885771_593516329885771 No it doesn't depend on the timezone. Normally there is a sensor on the front of the camera. If there is no sensor then it determines night/day through the IR cut filter. Can you check the night/day settings under display? Can you set them to default? Could be a defective IR cut filter too.

I assume both the camera and the nvr have the newest firmware. I also assume that you did a restore on the camera side. So you do not have a smartphone to install the Reolink client and check that these parameters are correctly set on camera.

@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 I did a hard reset on the camera and reset all camera settings to default and still the light comes on with motion during light hours. Both the camera and the NVR are updated to the newest firmware. I have the Reolink app on my iphone but not sure which settings you want me to confirm. Here are the settings under display. Not seeing Night/Day settings.

@user_593516329885771_593516329885771 Maybe this is helpful but when I switch the spotlight to always on at night, the light turns on during the day.
