      Hello,

I've been trying to connect my Argus 2 to my wifi for days, but it just doesn't work. (Encryption is on WPA 2 CCMP)

The camera only flashes blue red. This also shows up in my Fritzbox and gets assigned an IP, but does not connect properly, so the camera says "successfully connected". Pinging also works via cmd. Have already tested various Wifi networks (second guest Wifi opened, only 2,4Ghz Network, hotspot, etc.), the camera often reset to factory reset. Always the same problem.

I really do not know what to do, maybe you have a tip for me.

      Thanks a lot

@user_683244414582984_683244414582984 Camera supports WPA2-PSK, WEP (ASCII) and WPA-PSK. The last two modes are not recommended.

I think your issue is that the camera is unable to access the Internet (both directions - even from Reolink servers). Since it got the IP from the DHCP of the router then you need to check if there is any FW rule on your router. Perhaps you need to configure the port sharing. Check this out.

i have unlocked everything i could, unfortunately the camera does not connect despite factory reset.

this is how it looks in the fritzbox

            ReolinkArgus2 Wifi Exposed Host
connected with fritz.repeater 192.168.1.200 itself. Port sharing allowed 2.4 GHz

@user_683244414582984_683244414582984 Try to connect it directly to the main router.

On the repeater the DNS should be the ip of the gateway.

Switch off WIFI on your smartphone and enable hotspot. Try to connect Argus 2 to your smartphone hotspot using the mobile packet data.

I have removed the repeapter, but without it unfortunately does not work.

With an Iphone opened a hotspot and tried with it, but the same problem as with the router, the camera connects and disconnects directly again and that every second.

But thanks anyway that you want to help me.

@user_683244414582984_683244414582984 On the iPhone you have disabled WIFI right, just to eliminate the router. If this doesn't work then there is hardware issue. Perhaps the battery. Can you unplug the battery from the camera and charge it separately and then plug it again and check? Also check battery contacts for any oxidisation.

Yes had disabled the wifi in the iphone.

Charged the battery separately, but still does not connect properly.
                    The contacts look good.

@user_683244414582984_683244414582984 Seems a hardware issue. Argus 2 are now 5 years old and would say warranty elapsed. Try reolink support

@user_683244414582984_683244414582984 One last attempt. After you get successfully connected, being on the same WIFI, try to add it through the reolink client using the IP. Get the IP assigned to camera from Router.

I have 2 Argus 2 for 4 years and never had any issue. They are being powered by solar panel and nearly forgot them.

If you buy one ensure that it detects various objects types and read reviews.

Have you taken it up with Reolink support?

unfortunately that did not work either 😞
                            but thanks for tip again

I have another Reolink cam in use which also works for years without any problems.
The Argus 2 I also had years in use, they have then no longer needed and they lay half a year around, now I wanted to use it again, but unfortunately it somehow no longer works 😞
