Has anyone had issue with E1 Outdoor PoE - Auto Focus. it works 90% of the time, but sometimes will not auto focus. to correct you can manually zoom to get it to auto fucus. this is an issue it does not auto focus and records blurry. ReoLonk support wants to RMA but I feel it's a firmware issue / bug.

@jim_113753456251131 Most probably a firmware issue. You are the first to report this. If you don't want to exchange it then till they release a new firmware I suggest you to schedule a daily reboot at say 01:00 (Windows client).

@joseph_1979 It's not a firmware issue. I have hundreds of these cameras and have already sent 2 back. Getting ready to send back 5 more. The issue is the gears are ABS and very small so the teeth break easily. I took one apart to see what was actually going on with them. IMO they need to use either nylon or brass for the focus gears. ABS/ASA are not sturdy enough to withstand the torque of the stepper given the incredibly small surface area. That being said, overall I love this camera. I have only had 8 out of more than 200 fail which says a lot. I think the last 5 were probably just a bad batch since they were all from the same order. Hopefully, someone from @reolink-com_183670189228215 can tell me if this issue has been corrected in the pro models before I place my next order.

@anthony_62269329690 In the first generation of E1 OD there is an issue with the gears as occasionally the guard position deviates from its configured position. I reported this to the support on the first day I installed it. It is a very good camera but the gears are the sole issue. In addition I have also the E1 Zoom AI with tracking enabled and the guard position didn't deviate a single degree. I will check the E1 OD Pro later on.

@joseph_1979 and @anthony_62269329690 Wow, thanks. ReoLink replaced mine and the new one works or I have not has the issue. I can tell you the first one was a pre-order and I hope I don't have another issue.

@jimbrown-net Nice to hear that. Enjoy.

@joseph_1979 Update: I am testing the E1 OD Pro 8MP and so far the camera always returned to its guard point position. The picture is crystal clear and the tracking works fairly well but if the object is a bit fast it will not track it.

@anthony_62269329690 I assume your pics are to show cams use plastic gears. They don't look the same as the inside of my wifi E1 Outdoor. Last summer lightning struck close to my E1 Outdoor and shorted it out. I took it apart. The motor shaft goes directly into the camera housing. The white plastic gears are on the side for pan, tilt. A few are seeing some monitor point drift with the new POE version like wifi version. See LifeHackster's review on YouTube. It's still a good camera for the price. Slight monitor drift is annoying but not serious IMO. My more expensive 823A is built better, more precise, faster, etc.

@joseph_1979 Unfortunately I had two instances where the E1 OD Pro failed to return to the configured guard position. On one instant it deviated by 60 degrees which is a lot. Reported to Reolink support.

@jimbrown-net Got the same problem - with brand new camera. Sometimes the problem occurs, but not very often.

@sylwek_679586630619840 I have the E1 OD Pro WIFI and the autofocus works fine. The only issue I have concerns deviation in the guard position (sometimes > 180 degrees). In this respect I saw improvement wrt the first generation E1 OD.
