One of my RLC-410's is mounted about 12ft up along the side of my house where there's no lighting at night. Daylight images are OK, but night images are totally dark with IR illumination working. Should I be making any adjustments somewhere?RLC-410.jpgRLC-410_.jpg
Hi, you may adjust the angle of the camera. Point it a little left-wards and the images can be better.
Hi, how are the settings on the camera picture basic and advanced settings? looks to me like the shutter speed is too fast at first glance.. what I normally do is dial in the picture for night vision as its a bit more tricky then check the day vision.. if the camera is not set to default on basic and advanced I'd do that first to see if the night vision improves then fine tune to preference.
All of my camera setting are still at default. I wasn't sure what adjustments to make.
Ok, if that's the case I'd do what Bob has suggested, looks like the camera is pointing towards the wall it's mounted on as you can clearly see the IR reflection off the building so the LEDS are working. Try and tilt it away from the wall of the building but still retain the image area you want captured. I'd still expect to see more of the grass illuminated so double check the defaults on the settings..
There is also an issue with the latest firmware that has caused this to happen on all my outdoor cameras. I did a roll back to the previous version and my good night vision images returned. Either wait for a software update or try an earlier version of the firmware and see if that fixes the issue.
Quella, glad you noticed that with the code as well.. I mentioned it to support and they said the white balance had been adjusted to compensate for bright sun glare on day vision.. I rolled back and am happy with the results.. hope they fix what they done in the next release..
I agree. I would rather have the few times of bright sun shine blockage instead of the whole night being black. I assume it will be an adjustment in the future release. Rolling back as you had suggested in a previous post did the trick for me also.
