So I was installing my Play and Play 5MP camera and had it on my ladder and as I was walking back up the later it started to fall. When I got it back on the image was fuzzy and I was dang it, I broke it. I installed it anyway and then went for a 12 hour drive. Once I was able to get back on the internet I was able to get the camera back into focus. There is just a small scratch on the lens cover but that is all that I can tell. It is working great. I have attached a picture of the blurred and a clear picture.

Also love the new layout of this camera in the new update of the iOS app.

The images are at an angle because I was trying to get a different part of the driveway. I corrected it when I got back from being out of town.

Glad you got it working again, would of been gutted if it was beyond repair.. Here's a shot at the back of mine from the new 5MP.. Imaged scaled down somewhat for upload..

Great images and sharing. I posted my review to my blog site here: https://quellareviews.wordpress.com/2017/09/18/reolink-rlc-411-5-megapixel-review/ which also has a few sample images. I really like to ability to capture in much higher res. It does make all the difference.

Thanks for the feedback, I agree they made some good changes here from the RLC-411, but I would have liked to have seen audio added with the new resolution device. It would have given people more reasons to upgrade existing devices to the better one. Still a great unit and very solid feeling and well made as @ohallord can attest too. 🙂 It replaced an older RLC-410 unit I had in place for over a year.

yep agreed, for me it's the SD card I'd like to see.. I don't run an NVR at the moment (due to cost when I put my solution together) I converted an old PC into an FTP server which works a treat. I like the SD card concept for the fact that if the NVR gets taken or the FTP server and they don't have time to steal the cameras you should still have some evidence available.. sort of belt and braces approach.

I agree with you on the SD card option, and I think a combination of the two work the best; as you stated. Many of my cameras are mounted where you would need a ladder to get to them and the NVR is hidden so it would be difficult to find in the heat of the moment, but simply follow the cable traces and it will lead you right to it. 🙂

                    Hi wictod,
Our new model RLC-422W (https://reolink.com/product/rlc-422w/) has 5MP resolution and SD card slot.
You can insert a micro-SD card in for recording and it supports up to 64GB for longer life cycle for recording.

                      Hi Bob,

Can I know how do you insert the 64GB micro-SD card to the unit?

                      Thanks.

                        Hi Bob,

This is good news, I've just received the mailshot for this device and these specs fit my requirement perfectly as I'm looking at a dome style to cover the front door of my property and give a better angle (more acute) viewing as people approach.

I did quickly scan the headlines on the mailshot I just received and there's no mention of an SD card and was specifically looking for it, similarly the webpage, a more detailed overview of this device only mentions this in the specifications page.

I'm assuming the SD slot is not populated with a card at point of sale like 410s & 411s?

Might be worth getting marketing to include this feature in the main body of the advert as I'm sure many users will find this feature useful. If I hadn't read your reply I would of probably missed the SD card feature until it popped up on a review etc.

                        Cheers

Hi Quella, I notice from your signature you have the Argus and the POE NVR. Are you able to use the NVR to capture the recordings from the Argus or do you link both to an FTP server, or indeed is the Argus just a stand alone unit?

I'm just about to install an 8 port NVR with 4 POE cameras but I was wanting to get the Argus to cover the front door without the hassle of running wires there.

                          cheers

                          Phil

                            Phil,
Argus is not compatible with Reolink PoE NVR. We are developing a new recording box for Argus and Argus Pro, which will be more suitable for these batteries-powered cameras.
Please stay tuned for our news and announcements.
