Hello. I just purchased an RLC-423 (5MP Version) and connected it to my RLN16-410 NVR. It appeared to work fine at first, with just a slow focus when zooming. I had read that a firmware update might fix this. I downloaded the latest firmware for the RLC 423 direct from the Reolink website on January 6, 2018. The firmware filename I downloaded was:IPC-3816M.889_17083008.RLC-423.ov4689.4MP.PTZ.REOLINIK.pak(9.32 MB, 2017-09-20, 21:22:40)After this firmware upgrade, the RLC-423 camera no longer works. I believe this firmware might be specifically for the 4MP version of the RLC-423, and I have the 5MP version of the RLC-423. Can anyone confirm that this indeed might be the problem? Is there a fix for this? There does not seem to be ANY firmware specifically for the 5MP version of the RLC-423 available on the Reolink website. I'm dead in the water until this can be resolved.Thanks for any help anyone is able to provide.
I would contact Reolink Support. I do not want to speak for them but I just got a reply from them regarding this issue. The firmware that came with the camera was 17120705 "is up to date, but it seems the factory test version". They are contacting R&D and I believe they hope to have it figured out sometime tomorrow. I wish I could send you a copy of the old firmware but I do not think it is possible.
Hi guys,We will finish the test of firmware for 5MP RLC-423 and upload it to our website very soon.Sorry for the inconvenience.
The same happens with my new RLC-423 5MP camera.I'm waiting for the new firmware that my device works fine again.Or can I download the old firmware from anywhere. The factory reset does't work.Thanks for help
Unfortunately I also have the same situation. After "upgrade", the camera was in a continuous "boot loop". After a power cycle/reset, I was able to communicate with the camera again, but no video. Hopefully the video will be restored with the correct version.
Hello. Just wanted to say "Thanks" to the ReoLink support team (Bob) for working on the firmware update for the RLC-423 (5MP Version) and making it now available on the website for users to download. I am happy to report that this latest firmware version FIXED my RLC-423 5MP camera! This camera had been rendered useless when I flashed it with the 4MP firmware (the only firmware available on the website a week ago). However, as soon as I installed the new 5MP firmware (which, apparently now supports both the 4MP and 5MP versions of the RLC-423), the camera worked GREAT! I did read a forum post where one user (Johann) reported that the new firmware degraded the night-time performance of his 4MP camera. So, perhaps some fine tweaks might still be coming in the future. But for me, I am just happy to have a working 5 MP camera again. The filename of the new firmware is:IPC_3816M.1124_17120705.RLC-423.IMX326.5MP.PTZ.REOLINK.pakThanks ReoLink!
Hi I just updated the firmware on my RLC-423 5MP camera and now it wont focus well at all. The camera tries to focus (it is on auto focus) but it still produces a blurry image. I have the camera set on 'Clear" so that's not the problem either. I've been through every setting and am convinced that the new firmware messed up the focus badly. Please, where can i download a previous version of the firmware so i can fix my camera focus. The "upgrade" made a once awesome camera terrible.Very upset.2018-01-21_1-36-16.jpg

There is a Firmware File --> IPC_3816M.843_17061508.RLC-423.ov4689.4MP.PTZ.REOLINK.pak <-- for the 4MP RLC-423 Camera.
OK, on the Engish Website is the Version from the 4MP and 5MP Version and on the German Website is only the 4MP Version.That is confusing for an old German Man!
Dear all,Sorry for this issue. We was slow on updating the pages. Now issues fixed.
Team,I recently purchased an RLC-423 5MP and the link listed for firmware updates all do not have the 423 listed. Highest it goes is 422. The hardware on this camera is IPC_51516M5M hardware.Why is this firmware so elusive? Can someone point me in the right direction for the latest stable firmware version for this model?Thanks!-Brent
I had exactly the same problem with my RLC-423-5MP-IP. HW version is IPC_51516M5M. Not sure why they don't make the firmware public for this model. Following is the link they sent me for the current firmware that works: https://reolink-storage.s3.amazonaws.com/website/firmware/20190715firmware/RLC-423_489_19072600.zip
@steveox1Thanks for your link. I had the same problem with my 423. At the end I uploaded a firmware that shows my 423 as a 422.But with you DL link I fixed it. reolink should taker better care about the download page for firmwares.
Thank you for your feedback. We will forward it to the related department to make improvements for the firmware download page.
@Cynthia or any other Reolink staffWill there be a firmware with html5 support before EOL of Flash?For other models I see already releases "12/11/2020 Firmware for Reolink IP Cameras (IPC_51316M)" with changelog "1. Added the new web terminal that supports HTML5 player, which mainly solved the Flash expiring problem."
