@user_678736611209466_678736611209466
Yes, I have the same issue! Reolink, please fix this ASAP! -
@joseph_1979
The latest firmware posted on website made the image wash out and my full bar signal went down to the lowest. Prior to this firmware, the color was right and full signal. -
@user_678736611209466_678736611209466 I did the upgrade and agree with your findings. Moreover it is taking a bit longer to get to the live you. I think it is taking around 1.5s more.
Most probably I will roll back. Fps has been reduced to 20 and even bitrate. This is the outcome of onvif update. -
@lordvader_605854185590902 same here
-
@user_678736611209466_678736611209466 Hi, our team is looking into this. Can you share the screenshot of images being washed out? And could you elaborate on signal going down to the lowest? Is the connection becoming poorer than before or is the WiFi signal showing slow but doesn't affect the connection?
We would also like to know whether the IPC can connect after the update, is it connecting to 2.4G or 5G, and which country or region are you in. Thanks in advance. -
@lordvader_605854185590902 Can you share the screenshot of images being washed out?
-
@reolink-daisy Same problem here. Not sure, why you need pictures from users as reference. A rollback to the firmware from beginning of august would be appreciated - or a new firmware with the old picture parameters. The pictures was a lot of better
-
@reolink-daisy With this newer firmware, the image in clear mode has low contrast/saturation, colours are muted, and the density is light. This may be due to lower fps (from 25 to 20) and lower bitrate (from 8k to 5k). I assume that the optimisation of ONVIF has lowered the definition. Would the dev team consider restoring these values?
Moreover before updating, I had full WIFI signal strength and now nothing as depicted below. I also noticed that to access the camera and get to the live view, it is taking around 1.5s more.
-
@reolink-daisy The moderator explanation is correct. This new firmware muted the color and made the full signal down to lowest (dot). The August of last year firmware was good. Please fix it asap. Thanks!
-
@user_678736611209466_678736611209466 Which country/region are you in? Do other devices connecting to the network also show poor signals?
-
@joseph_1979 May I know you're using a third-party Client (qnap/odm/synology) or our own Client to access the camera for live view? If it's the later one, how did you operate on the client? Our team is trying to replicate the problem.
-
@reolink-daisy The firmware on website is gone. When can we expect a firmware? My camera is unstable because it got the lowest signal. The old firmware from August I got full signal and color was correct. I’m using reolink app. The issue was color and wifi signal. Why I can only post here once a day?
-
@reolink-daisy Sorry for late reply. Was away on business.
Yes, I am using the latest Windows Reolink client. But as I stated it may be attributed to lower fps and bitrate. -
@joseph_1979 Now I'm starting to understand.. From 6 to 10 September Reolink will be present at Ifa 2024 in Berlin. If you look at the Reolink website there is for example in addition to the mention of the aforementioned fair also a series of images of new products, among which a new Track Mix wifi stands out, Surely it will be wifi6 and will also have other new features. I understand that it is important to present new products and in that case the firmware of the same must be perfect to avoid bad impressions at the fair and lost sales, but I think it is not correct and unprofessional to treat customers who have trusted Reolink for years and purchased their products in this way.
-
@mamymam2013_465350299701478 I am a customer like you and provide support based on my technical background and experience. If I am a senior manager within Reolink, I would definitely change a lot of procedures and adopt different strategies. Haven't been in Berlin but have been in Munich and Frankfurt.
Whenever I developed applications for my customers I performed lots of tests and I used to include a debug mode which will dump data whenever an issue is encountered and then I prompt the user to email me the log file. Then I do my analysis and if there is a bug I sorted it out and deploy a new upgrade. How can you resolve problems without logs? -
@joseph_1979 Thank you very much for your sincere answer, which I shared. They are so busy with this upcoming fair that they have not even inserted the link and the announcement of the new Windows client version on the page, which some say works and others do not. By the way, the new Android version has also come out, which I have not received yet, but every time I make the sign of the cross that everything works. With Reolink it is like this unfortunately. Now Daisy has announced the release of the 2 new trackmix firmwares but going to the link inserted they are always the same.
-
@mamymam2013_465350299701478 Well to give real service you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that is sincerity and integrity. This is what I say to my engineers. If you fail you must admit and learn from mistake and be open to suggestions. Sometimes they come from the least expected.
I have no knowledge of what models will be out but I know the technicalities esp protocols in IT and Telecoms plus software development. I teach it too.
As for the TM fw, I reverted back to previous one. -
@joseph_1979 @Reolink-Daisy Hi Joseph, once again I fully agree with what you say, but in any case a camera must work perfectly because it is a tool designed to protect security. I attach the image relating to the September fair in Berlin, where you can see on display what appears to be a new advanced trackmix wifi model. Was there Fiona before? Is it gone now? Is there Daisy? But announcing a firmware by republishing the same link for both the wifi and poe versions of track mix already consolidated as terrible and not working, what sense does it make? Just as it makes no sense every time you write to support in detail about the problem, few times does anyone who reads understand and it is therefore difficult to obtain a solution. They should also publish the link to the repository of the previous versions of the Windows and Mac client, of the Android and iOS versions and also of all the previous firmware versions, so that rolling back is simple. At the same time why not insert a new function both in the android and ios apps that saves the current configuration, but also for windows and mac clients so that in case of problems reinstalling the app or client is simple and fast without going crazy to reconfigure the entire system cameras, emails, ftp etc...
-
@mamymam2013_465350299701478 We are on the same wavelength. Fiona moved to another department and now Daisy has taken over the community. To understand the customer you need to be with the customer. TrackMix is one of the best camera I have in my ecosystem. Newly release cameras have lower vertical field of view. See the DUO 3, Argus 4 Pro, RLC811, etc. I don't know whether this is attributed to the cmos sensor or the processing power.

@joseph_1979 Hi Joseph today new firmware version, but I'm afraid to try it! IPC_529SD78MPv3.0.0.3748_2408281837 Kindly Regards
-
@mamymam2013_465350299701478 Thanks buddy. I will check and test it out right now.
Outcome: Colour is better and almost the same as the previous. Slightly more natural. Max bitrate and max fps for Clear mode have been kept too. WIFI signal strength.....one bar. I need to check the signal strength but need a ladder :). When I will do some work outside I will check it.
I told them for the WIFI cams to include the speed test...........from the cam and not the smartphone....from the smartphone there are myriads of speedtest applications.
Always keep older fw and clients just in case you need to revert. -
@joseph_1979 I tried the new firmware. Everything looks fine except the wifi signal did not improve. I’m still getting one bar. Color has been improved.
-
@joseph_1979 Hu Joseph, it's not a ladder problem but firmware problem. With november firmware version (my version) wi signal full bar. With latest version one bar. I have talk to support so much time, but for Relink it's better a NEW LOGO!

@mamymam2013_465350299701478 Uh....the ladder to reach the camera :)....

@joseph_1979 @Reolink-Daisy Hi Joseph, talking to Reolink support is like entering a parallel dimension.
Buon Giorno. -
@joseph_1979 Thank you Joseph for the information, but before when you have november firmware the signal was the same?
-
@mamymam2013_465350299701478 si....
-
@joseph_1979 Thanks I will try it
-
@joseph_1979 @Reolink-Daisy I have tried new firmware version, always signal problem. Low wifi signal with latest version very good signal with novembre firmware version. My cam is not so far from router only 4 meters. I have written so many times to support I'm tired to make this please solve this problem! Thanks
-
@mamymam2013_465350299701478 It's the signal level which seems to be the issue. I would still keep this firmware and hopefully they will solve this issue. I cannot unmount and get it near the router to see if the signal level changes.
All I can tell you is to pester support as what I do. Note that I am a customer like you and have no authority to force them to do this and that. -
@joseph_1979 Thank you , please Joseph for a mistake I leave my uid can you cancel for me? Thanks in advance

@joseph_1979 I joseph I have just written with pictures about wifi signal to Reolink support. I think will be the number 20 time that I write!
-
@mamymam2013_465350299701478 I am running it and have no issues. As always ensure you have a copy of your running client before upgrading.
-
@joseph_1979 @Reolink-Daisy Hi this this the 21 email to support about faulty Track Mix Wifi firmware
This will be the twentieth time I write to support and you always say the same things. I am an expert and not an incompetent. The signal is good only with the November firmware version that I have currently reinstalled and only in this way is the signal strong. The tests with mobile hot spot are useless. Where I have the cameras I have fiber optics and high speed. I hope I was clear and the only problem is to have the firmware written and modified by capable and expert engineers and not beginners. If you do not solve I will also write every day to the headquarters and we will see who gets tired first. Thanks!

Dear Marco,
Thank you for contacting Reolink Support. I apologize for the inconvenience you're experiencing with your TrackMix WiFi camera after the recent firmware update.
Based on the information and images you've provided, I can see that there's a significant decrease in the WiFi signal strength after updating to the latest firmware. Let's try a few troubleshooting steps to address this problem:
1. First, please try rebooting both your router and the camera. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.
2. If possible, could you please try moving the camera even closer to the router temporarily? This will help us determine if the issue is related to distance or signal interference.
3. Could you please check if there are any new sources of interference between the camera and the router? This could include new electronic devices or large metal objects.
4. If the issue persists, we may need to consider rolling back to the previous firmware version. However, before we do that, could you please provide the following information:
· The current firmware version of your TrackMix WiFi camera
· The previous firmware version (from November) that worked well
5. Lastly, could you please try connecting your camera to a mobile hotspot if possible? This will help us determine if the issue is specific to your home network or the camera itself.
I apologize again for the multiple issues you've experienced and the lack of resolution so far. I assure you that we take your concerns seriously and will work diligently to solve this problem.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation. I look forward to your response so we can proceed with further troubleshooting or consider alternative solutions.
Best Regards,
Reolink Support Team - Alexander

@joseph_1979 Dear Joseph and @Reolink-Daisy new email:
Dear Season, I don't know if they teach you to be so repetitive and boring, but more than the technical service it seems to me that I'm talking to robots. Of course the signal can be seen from both the Windows client and the Android app, but instead of asking useless questions, where did I buy it etc... you should all think that on the other side of the screen there is one of the many Reolink customers who thanks to their purchases pays the salaries of you, Daisy and all the employees and owners of Reolink. You don't need to have 10 degrees to do a simple test, even a capable child could do it. Just take a Track Mix Wifi, load the latest firmware version, from September 5th, put a router at a distance of 4 meters from the camera and check the signal level. Then load the November 2023 version 3.0.0.2769_23100901 and you can see if the signal is the same or not. I've been fighting and sending dozens of emails with no results since the beginning of August! But all these tests that we users actually do, you should do them, not us! Pay good engineers and the results will be seen and you will have fewer problems with firmware software etc.. I want results and not more useless and repetitive questions. Was I clear? I hope so.
Kind regards

Dear Marco,
This is Season from the Reolink Senior Support Team.
Sorry for the inconvenience caused. We will try our best to help you fix the issue. Could you please provide the below information to better confirm first?
1. How did you find the camera's signal is not working well with the newer firmware version, do you mean you find it via this icon?
2. Or it will drop the connection often and shows connection failed via the phone APP and PC Client?
3. If your camera bought from Amazon or reolink.com? Please advise your camera's order number/invoice.How to Find My Order ID?
Thanks for your patience and understanding in advance!
Looking forward to your reply!

@mamymam2013_465350299701478 I can fully understand you but I cannot do anything. Whenever I report an issue either I discovered or being reported here, I am asked a number of questions which are repetitive and don't make sense in the context I described. Sometimes I leave it. My time is precious too and as I stated I am conducting an acceptance testing of a mega project running into millions of Euros. And I do it because I love to help people wherever possible.
@Daisy Kindly ask senior support to get in touch with this customer. The problem is with various models not just the TM. -
@joseph_1979 Thank you Joseph I Know what you say. You are a very good person ;.)

@mamymam2013_465350299701478 thanks. Keep pestering. Always be persistent in life.
-
@joseph_1979 Yes shure Thanks. Joseph now today there is on Reolink web site new windows client version 8.17.6 can I install or there is always the directory problem as far as cornerned virus? Thanks in advance
-
@joseph_1979 @Reolink-Daisy my latest email sent: Thanks I had already reported the same thing at the beginning of August to several people in technical support without any results. It is clear that it is not difficult to do. The wifi power setting of this November 2023 version that works very well and the signal is full scale just needs to be inserted into the new firmware version of September 5, 2024. For those who know how to get their hands on it, it is a job of a few minutes. But you have to want to do it and not procrastinate. So by inserting this value into the new firmware of October 5, the improvements would be complete, don't you think? I will write until you solve both on the reolink page and via email.

Dear Marco,
Thank you for your quick reply.
Sincerely sorry for the inconvenience caused, we totally understand your feelings and we want to help you solve this issue, but what we do is that we need to collect more information about your issue and the scenario then we can see if we have tested the same result on our side.
Please don't worry, we keep working on better firmware for this camera, if the old firmware 3.0.0.2769_23100901 can work now, would you mind using this? We have forwarded your idea to our engineer and they will keep testing and seeing if it can be fixed on the next solution. If you can waiting for the next firmware version?
We sincerely apologize that our product has not met your expectations. Despite our best efforts to resolve the issues you reported, we regret that we have not been able to achieve the desired outcome. But we'd like to give your valuable experience to our product team, so we can continually improve our products.
We honor you as our valued customer, would you be interested in talking with our after-sales team? They'd follow up to check if we can offer anything to you as a gesture of our good faith.
Please share your camera's order number/invoice. How to Find My Order ID?
Please let us know if you'd like to proceed with my proposal, or if you have any other suggestions.
Thank you again for your patience and support.
Looking forward to your reply.

@joseph_1979 @Reolink-Daisy Today my latest email: You are really repetitive and boring, always the same pre-packaged answers that by the way do not interest me. I am interested in the results, promised since the beginning of August, but never obtained. Same problem of low signal also on other products, for example on the RLC-511WA, confirmed to me by one of your moderators Joseph who by the way owns and uses it like me. Stop saving money and having the firmware programmed by beginners and start having it done by expert professionals. You will see the problems will drastically decrease and customer satisfaction will increase. Stop wasting time, get busy!

@joseph_1979 @Reolink-Daisy New reply to technical support
Sorry, but up to now your words have only been copy and paste and 0 results. If you think by sending me this polite closing formula that I will give up, you are very wrong. If I buy a product it must work at its best and if it doesn't work at its best it is you who must intervene and resolve it. I'm ready to change my mind but usually after this final email everyone has always disappeared. But I won't disappear, I can assure you and I will continue to demand what any serious company should do towards its paying customers.

@mamymam2013_465350299701478 The new firmware fixes many of the issue including color and returned higher fps of 25. What is not fix was wifi, I’m only getting 1 bar. I don’t know what this new firmware bring to the table but I don’t see new features. I think it’s best to use from last year firmware as it has no issue and in comparison to new firmware it doesn’t bring anything new in the setting that matters to most users.
-
@user_678736611209466_678736611209466 Hi, you are absolutely right. I also use the November version and the signal is at full scale. Among other things, other improvements would be needed. For example, and I have reported it many times to technical support, track mix when there is an animal or a person at night, first takes the 2 photos with the LEDs off and then later turns them on and in fact all this is noticeable in the recording. It is silly to take 2 photos in the dark. It would be enough to take them immediately after the spotlights are turned on. Same problem of low signal also with the 511wa, but if they continue to put incapable beginners to write and correct the firmware, the results will never arrive. Every time a new windows client or android app or firmware comes out, I am always afraid to install it because given the approximation of Reolink in doing things, the risk of having problems is always high. I conclude by saying that renewing a company does not mean changing the graphics of the logo, but also the rest, and customer support is only compiling and pasting prepared formats, it seems robotic. This should be changed. For the newcomer Daisy, customers seem to not exist, unlike what Fiona used to do.
-
@mamymam2013_465350299701478 Many company can provide superior hardware but fall behind on software. Superior hardware will not be any better if firmware is not well written. I rather see ok quality hardware but superior software. This is the problem on many company giving consumers top notch hardware but lack in skill on software. To me, software need to be superior before hardware can give its maximum performance.
-
@user_678736611209466_678736611209466 @joseph_1979 @Reolink-Daisy Thanks for your reply. People is tired to write many times to support e nobody makes nothing. Reolink Remember, customers are important and without them the company closes. If we don't buy your products anymore what do you do, do we finally get Daisy and the technical staff to answer us?
-
@mamymam2013_465350299701478 I cannot do anything. I am a customer like you. Apart from this there are issues related to the object detection type. For instance I am now seeing timing detection files which I have never seen before. If you go to playback and click download.......sometimes human is replaced by timing. I reported it but didn't yet get any reply (usual robotic questions :)). For a human/pet I got three files.....motion, timing, human and pet. And the objects to be recorded are human, pet and vehicle. This is only happening since I upgraded both the fw of the TM and the Windows client...... I am very busy and won't log frequently....so be patient if I don't reply.
-
@mamymam2013_465350299701478 I stick on last November firmware. I don’t see any benefits using the latest version not that I can see as feature set. WiFi signal on November I get maximum signal along with the correct color and fps. Based on my observations, every new release of firmware is just going backward by having new set of issue. Their software specialist is their weakest link.
-
@user_678736611209466_678736611209466 @joseph_1979 @Reolink-Daisy
Don't worry Joseph and user 678736611209466, now in addition to mutual respect we understand each other perfectly and, mine was not a request, but only to keep you updated in a friendly way. Here they are wrong and a lot, they have great potential in their hands, but they do not know they have it. Many give up on relying on Reolik precisely because the client software, app, firmware leave much to be desired and are full of problems and malfunctions. This latest news in windows client that you have found is fantastic. You know then, I also purposely tag Daisy the new arrival to show her that I would like to involve her as it is right to do since she replaced Fiona, but she does not seem to be interested, she prefers to make a bad impression of a person who is decidedly unprofessional towards customers, but above all rude. -
@user_678736611209466_678736611209466 @joseph_1979
Yes, I agree that the wifi is perfect and the colors too. But in the new firmware version they had changed the recommended values. I attach my current ones, but I remember when I had tried all the wrong firmware versions both for color and signal that these values had increased and varied. Can you confirm this for me? What settings do you use with the November 2023 firmware version, the same one I use? Thanks. Bye -
-
@mamymam2013_465350299701478 The last version included in their download center has restored the previous max bit rate and fps for the clear mode. Subsequently the washed colours issue has been solved.
Signal level is still problematic.
In addition to this, on channel 1 you shall see an additional file with detection type timer even though you don't schedule recordings during specific times. You can see this by selecting channel 1 and click on playback. Then click on download....you shall see two files for each event. One with the person (and motion????) and the other timer. Moreover on each thumbnail shown in channel 1 you shall have motion icon apart from person/vehicle/pet. And any motion is untagged in recording. Most probably the programmer failed to do proper testing or his environment is a simulator :). Whenever I deliver applications to my customers I spend a lot of time testing different scenarios and do include a debug function which I ask customers to activate it and repeat the procedure yielding to the problem. Here I log everything and this really assist me in troubleshooting. Different mentality. -
@joseph_1979 Is better that you use november 2023 version if you don't have i can give it to you. Good colors and good signal.
-
@joseph_1979 Can you put a screenshot of your trackmix stream value with new firmware please? I would like to make a test. Thank you
-
@mamymam2013_465350299701478 Thanks. I always keep the old fw for all my models. I am using the Nov version. Will await till an upgrade is provided.
-
@mamymam2013_465350299701478 Here it comes. Note that this is from the most recent fw as I had to load it again to provide some info requested by Reolink support.
-
@joseph_1979 Thanks Joseph. It's exactly this difference. With the November firmware it doesn't accept these high wifi parameters, it blocks them, and the seconds on the clock freeze and then quickly run out. I wanted to have confirmation and now I have it. Unfortunately I prefer a good signal to a low one, but to put your same settings, I would have to install the new firmware. As I expected, they made fun of me once again, so many promises, but zero results. You are a capable, expert person and I believe that if I say that taking into consideration the wifi setting of the November 2023 track mix firmware and inserting it into the new one I think it is (confirm it for me) a quick, easy job. They should do the same with the 511wa which has the same problem, but the image quality is ok. I make you laugh. This morning I received the Reolink 4.49.1.2024 android app update... And I was afraid to install it and in fact I was right. An e1zoom, less recent as a model had disappeared from the camera list, but on the other hand the trackmix wifi had been duplicated. Crazy stuff!! Luckily by deleting the extra one and being in the network where this camera is present, it saw it and I added it again. Unannounced update, now the site is almost abandoned to itself and there are no more references. I am very disappointed, a product with great potential supported by terrible software and an incompetent staff!
-
@mamymam2013_465350299701478 Since it is reachable and I have no disconnections I stay with the newest fw (v3.0.0.3748_2408281837) and forget about the WIFI signal strength indicator. However, there is the issue of icons on playback which I am liaising with support to sort out. If there are any updates on this I let you know.
-
@joseph_1979 Thanks I hope in good news.
-
@joseph_1979 Hi Joseph, I just deleted myself from the Reolink camera community Facebook page because they didn't publish my post where I reported what I had written to technical support (for the umpteenth time) regarding the Reolink Trackmix and 511wa malfunctions. Polite, not offensive post, but they refused to publish it. I sent the same post for the umpteenth time to the support email, but I fear that some little hand of a "newcomer" has blocked it, deleted it. If we are at these levels, it is simply disconcerting. Have a good day.
-
@joseph_1979 Hi now someone has written to me from the support and sent problems to senior engineers. I hope.
-
@mamymam2013_465350299701478 I can fully understand you but we can't do anything other than pestering and hopefully one day we may see a solution. I am chasing them on two issues, one on thumbnails not always showing the detected object (Android) and the other one concerning the motion and timer detection type(Windows). I am so busy that I have no time to reply to members.
You can take a donkey to drink water but you cannot force him to drink :). All companies have the same primordial goal...sell...sell...sell and then ..... -
@joseph_1979 Sorry I can't write nothing restrective rules They prevent you from doing it. Have a nice day Joseph

I accidentally fixed my washed out image by going into display-->brightness and shadows--> turning all options off and back on again. Rebooted and it stayed fixed, but as soon as it changed from daytime colour to night time colour the washout came back. Fixed it again by turning off default brightness and shadows-- for nighttime colour. But it won't stay fixed on the new firmware.
I even selected reset settings when I installed the new firmware. I was able to fix my image issues by rolling back to the previous version.
I have reported my finding to support.Reply QuoteShare1- Share this Post

Yes, please give us an update.
I saw that the build timestamp for the Trackmix WiFI was changed, but no changes noticable.
You also pulled the firmware for the POE version.
So, when do we get a fixed firmware to use the camereas properly again? -
@user_751347369033978_751347369033978 There is new firmware posted on website with different date for both wifi and poe, can you please check if the issue has been fix? I’m away from home to check.

The latest firmware posted on website August 11, 2024 made the image wash out.
Thank you for informing us about the image washout issue with the latest firmware update from August 11, 2024. We apologize for the inconvenience. Our team is investigating and working on a fix. Meanwhile, please revert to the previous firmware version for better image quality. Instructions are available on our support page hairfood 5 -
Same thing with the v3.0.0.3748_2408152331 (dated 15.8). Tweaking display settings your options seem to be either with very low brightness plus some inadequate shadow tweaking or clipped whites. My cameras, which are monitoring a white and a pale yellow building, currently look terrible with the latest firmware. My old 511w does task so much better
-
The latest firmware, which was posted on the website on August 11, 2024, and now showing August 15, 2024, has significantly impacted my experience. I strongly advise against updating as it has caused more harm than good. The color of the #1 Trackmix camera is washed out, and no amount of tweaking has been able to correct this problem. The other Trackmix is DOA, failing to connect to the Reolink client on Windows 11, iPhone, Android app, or the NVR. The WI-Fi signal shows 1 bar on both cameras compared to full bars before the update. I would strongly advise against utilizing the new update. Also, I must bring to your attention that the customer service experience has been less than satisfactory.
-
The administrator stated on this tread that the latest firmware ought to fixed the issue and if there’s a problem want us to contact them with a snapshot. There’s already a snapshot presented by the other user. That’s more than enough. People who update to the latest version will come here and complain. If this is their answer of fixed, I would like to get the old firmware from last year or give us refund. My camera can’t function the way they were design to do due to poor color and connection. The latest firmware ruin the function and my experience of this camera.
-
I was informed that the new firmware was more natural than previous firmware where they think the previous was over saturated and made a correction. I guess wash out is the new normal going forward of future firmware for this device.
-
Just tried v3.0.0.3748_2408152331 (Aug 15, 2024 version) and the washout issue seems to be resolved for me.

@user_678736611209466_678736611209466 I did reset one cam when updating and left one as is. Both work fine now but a few settings got reset to default (can't recall which ones).
