I have a Doorbell Battery with 2 Reolink Chime and wanted to integrate them into my Smart Home (Home Assistant). That didn't work and was told by Reolink support that I need the Smart Hub. No sooner said than done, bought. I can integrate the camera into the Smart Hub, but then I can no longer add the Reolink Chime. Adding the Chime to the camera first and then integrating it into the hub makes the Chime disconnect. Therefore, I can either integrate the Doorbell Battery with Hub into the Smart Home or I can choose to be notified when the doorbell rings.I want the Reolink Chime to work with the Doorbell Battery in the Smart Hub so that I can integrate everything into my Home Assistant.
I'm also dealing with the same issue. Furthermore my battery doorbell is offline all the time in Google Home since I started using the Smart Hub.
Looks to be an unsupported configuration at the moment...https://www.reddit.com/r/reolinkcam/comments/1gemayq/doorbell_chime_v2_and_home_hub_incompatibility/I can tell you that the wired WiFi doorbell does with with both (that's what I have). I can only assume that's it's a battery capacity issue... the more lines of code in the firmware means more power for processing. Having to send two alert signals to two different devices also means more power.
Yep I'm getting the same problem. I've raised a support ticket as there is nothing documented to say that Chime & home hub are incompatible. But it is documented and advertised that you can have up to 5 chimes.
This is the response I got from Reolink support. I've asked for an approximate ETA on the firmware update. This is Iris from the Reolink Senior Support Team! Thanks for reaching out. After the Doorbell camera is added to the Home Hub series, it does not have the Reolink Chime option so they cannot be paired for now. Please don't worry, we're working on new firmware for the Home Hub to support the Reolink Chime and it'll be available soon. Before that, here are two workarounds: 1. Delete the Doorbell camera from the Home Hub to use it as a separate device so that you can pair the Reolink Chime to it.2. Or you can keep the Doorbell connected to the Home Hub, and use the Home Hub Ring function. After you press the Doorbell, the Hub will emit a loud tune like a chime.
Thank you for updating the community @user_901203979997352_901203979997352 ! Too bad Reolink doesn't do it themselves here, we have to inform ourselves. The combination of Smart Hub and Chimes was my reason for buying and I was disappointed that it doesn't work.I'm looking forward to the update and wish you a happy new year in the meantime!
