I am running the latest Windows client (v8.18.10). I am trying to determine firmware versions for all my cameras so I can determine whether I need to update the firmware. I can't find anywhere where I can view my current camera firmware version. All the online videos and even the email support from Reolink references old menu items which no longer appear to exist. I can view the firmware version of my NVR itself and use the online update option to update that. But the cameras only have a "browse" option to update the firmware and there is nowhere where I can even view the current installed firmware version for any of my cameras. Can someone please point me to where I can view the current installed firmware version of my cameras, and is the only way to update by Browsing to a locally-downloaded firmware file (no online update)?

@gahoak_900061514571953 I am running the same version. Expand the device list of camera on the left side pane. Click the setting cog for the camera you wish to check firmware then click Info.

@chopstix Hide your UID. I deleted the photo.

@joseph_1979 Totally missed that! Thank you! Can a camera connected to HHP/NVR still be access via UID without account password?

@chopstix Np. If the camera is connected through the HHP then there is no way to access it using the UID. But when you remove it from the HHP they can reach it. However, Reolink are working on having the possibility to access the cameras directly even though they are connected to the HHP. This is the same in case the camera is connected directly to the NVR. If, however, it is connected through a switch then it can be reached too.

@joseph_1979 So for clarity, camera + HHP/NVR on the Reolink private LAN switch, no access with UID. But if camera + HHP/NVR on home network switch, the camera can still be accessed with UID?

@chopstix So if POE/DC WIFI/Battery cam is connected to the HHP then there is no way to access the camera directly. If, however, the POE camera is connected to the POE NVR port then again it is not possible to access it directly (there is a way to do it.... for Advanced users :)). But if connected through a POE switch then you are able to access it directly. In case of a DC WIFI cam you can access it directly despite connected to NVR.

@joseph_1979 From an infrastructure perspective, I understand... the Reolink private LAN is not accessible thus no camera will be accessible. However, if connected via PoE switch, the IP address is reachable thus the camera is reachable. However, would the camera not be password protected from the HHP/DVR? Or is view-only not protected?

EDIT: I just realized that I have 1 camera that is not on my private VLAN. I am going to see if I can connect to it.

EDIT: I was unable to access the camera from web browser. I attempted to add the camera to a different app installation using its UID however it prompts me for a password. Of course we do not want people to attempt to hack our cameras, however the UID alone does not grant access to the camera feed.

@chopstix Of course to log one needs the credentials. Some customers apply simple passwords which hackers can find in minutes.

Maybe you have http/https disabled on that camera. Enabke it and try to access it using a Web browser. You shall be prompted for credentials.

@joseph_1979 yep yep. I was just curious if there was password-less view only access. Your information paired with my testing confirmed that this is not the case. Thanks brother! Cheers.
