There are some nice things about v4.5.0.3.But sadly, there are visual changes to the playback that make it much harder to use.In the previous version the blue color of the video clips on the timeline bars had a good contrast to the background and was easy to see. In the new version the light blue color is extremely difficult to see.In the previous version the time "hash" marks in the upper timeline bar was clearly shorter than the video clips so I could distinguish one from the other. In the new version the look nearly the same height on the portrait page and identical height on the landscape page.In the previous version the upper timeline bar was a 1 hour range which made the width of the video clip markers adequate to see. In the new version the upper timeline bar is a 2 hour range which makes the width of the video clip markers too narrow to easily see.In the previous version the "range marker" in the lower timeline bar was a green box and easy to see. In the new version on the portrait page it is just a thicker bottom line that is much harder to see and on the landscape page it is a nearly invisible blue box.In the previous version, the timeline bars were somewhat transparent so you could see the video behind them. In the new version the timeline bars are opaque. Please, please, please, revert these items back to the previous design. Or at least create new user preferences to control these display items. Please keep in mind, there are many people (including me) that do not have the great eyes we did when we were 20-30 years old. High contrast displays are vital to usability. I will gladly give you my time for free to provide alpha/beta feedback on UX design changes.v4.5.0.3V4.4.1.3v4.5.0.3-playback-small-1.pngv4.5.0.3-playback-small-2.pngv4.4.1.3-playback-small-1.pngv4.4.1.3-playback-small-2.png
Also, I was all set to recommend Reolink to my neighbors and to my entire neighborhood association (hundreds of houses) but these negative changes have made me pause to first discuss this with you.
We really appreciate your valuable feedback. The suggestions will be forwarded to our related team to assess and consider. Again, Reolink teams take your feedback very seriously. All the blessings~
Bob, thanks for pushing this!
Thanks Bob. I hope your team moves quickly to fix these issues.I'm willing to continue in good faith with my cameras but I'll have to hold off the recommendation to my neighborhood association until I see the actual fixes. It seems another change to the playback timeline bar in this release allows a double-tap of the bar to toggle the upper timeline between a 2 hour span and a 10 minute span. Very nice feature! I'm surprised you did not mention it in your response to my post. Be sure to mention the feature in your documentation.
Dear Tom,Your request has been collected. Engineering is reviewing the feasibility of implementing this idea. We’ll schedule to implement the request if it’s accepted. Thanks for your nice ideas.
