I just purchased a RLC-1224A camera and noticed that the firmware version that can shipped with camera is newer than what is listed on the website
My new camera shows v3.1.0.2174_23082916
Website shows v3.1.0.2174_23050816
Why doesn't the website have latest firmware for my camera? Am I missing something here?
ThanksReply QuoteShare0- Share this Post

This can be due to a few different reasons. One is some cameras have a newer version just to identify a newer run of the camera and although the version numbers are different, its effectively the same version. Secondly some newer firmwares are not published to the website or do take some time to be published. If in doubt, email support as they can email the newest version out, but I would say you just
have a version that hasnt been published online yet. Ive had this happen with a few cameras now to date. -
@sparker_825114123485429 So here it is nearly a year after the OP's question. Today, I have discovered the exact same thing with the same camera and the same firmware version numbers.
I discovered this after I found out that there had been 2 firmware updates to my doorbell camera that I didn't know about. Every time I would tell it to update to the latest firmware it would incorrectly tell me that my existing firmware is current It has forced me to manually download the firmware and install.
The configuration management for these products really seems kind of "iffy" to me. -
@wisemanjaw Agree. We have been telling them to have the application check the fw of the connected cameras and if a new one is available it shall prompt the user. I don't know the reason why this has not been implemented from day 1. This is readily available on competitors application.
