      Hello,
Just purchased the RLC-411WS and hooked it up this morning.
Also i have a amcrest IP3-943 which i will be comparing this camera too.
During day time the reolink quality was a bit better i guess due to it being a 4mp camaera
but now its night time and the quality is horrible in my opinion.
I changed it from black and white to color since our street is pretty well lit and the image is so grainy that
its basically unusable. Yes i can switch it back to black and white and its ok but thats not the point.
The amcrest seems to have a few more options regarding reducing grain and also has a selector for the 3D NR level which reolink does not seem to have.
Also your software for desktop needs a lot of improvement. too many issues to list here honestly.
Another issue is your android app. when the video is streaming and i click on the screen to view in full screen mode the quality goes down to un-watchable levels.
I really wanted to keep this camera and buy 6 more for the whole house. i was really excited in the afternoon when there was sunlight and the quality was good but due to the poor night time quality this camera is going back unless you guys are going to release an update in the next few days to fix this.
Oh and almost forgot. I thought maybe i should update the firmware so visited your website and downloaded the correct firmware for my device.
to start off with the issues here. You need to tell your customers what is the new version number and where to check the previous and so on. i spent like an hour trying to figure out if i have the latest firmware or not and was not able to find the answer.
Now i figured ill just update it and hope it fixes the issues but during update it failed so i now completely gave up.
Here is a link to a snapshot of my screen with both cameras so you guys can see the difference in quality.

Yes, I have to admit the night video are really grainy.
Hope next firmware update will focus on improving in this area.

          Dear Vick,
The camera ought to be in night mode not color mode during the night. If you switch to black&white you'll see the image quality improve significantly. You are also welcome to contact our support to see whether there can be more settings to be configured to further improve the images.
          Thank you.

I would use night mode if it was possible to turn off the IR lights.
I use the rlc-411ws as a weather camera and it is mostly pointing towards th esky with a little ground far away at the bottom.

due to night view is catching all insects, dust partickles and raindrops it will trigger recording, but I only want to record lightning and meteors, hence without turning off the IR lights it is not usable at night and I have to stay in color and endure the grainy poor miserable low light images I get. I used to use a hikvision that was much cheaper and that was much better day and night but only at max 1080p.

Any hope for a firmware that let you disable the IR lights?

I made a mask for the IR emitter annulus on a 411ws, and added an external 850nm illuminator. Works reasonably well for keeping the bugs away from the lens.

Ah, clever 🙂 I can off course just mask out or paint over the outer ring with all the ir diodes, I have no need for other ir illumination since I am mostly filming th eskies ... good call 🙂
