Original post:
The latest firmware of Reolink IP cameras and NVRs are available now on our website: https://reolink.com/firmware/. Please update your device to the latest version.
Important Notes
1. For IP cams with a SD card (such as 410S, 410WS, 411S and 411WS), you need to update the firmware and then format the SD card. Otherwise, it will cause issues with the recordings in the SD card.
2. For an IP cam working with our PoE NVR, you also need to update the NVR firmware to the latest version. Otherwise the audio preview won’t work.
3. The updates will leave the admin password set to the default (blank). Please reset the password once you’ve updated the firmware. -
Great job with the latest firmware! It's great to see HTML 5 support for viewing the camera feeds! I'm looking forward to seeing the list of CGI commands as noted here.

Not so good for me. Lost my SD card button Also My Schedule Button for setting record time, Need help from Reolink support Plese, Also have posted in the General forum section about the same problems.
-
Thanks for the update. I performed the firmware upgrade to both the NVR and camera, but chrome is still asking for the plugin. Is there a change I need to make somewhere?
-
Hi Jshoota,
Thanks for your kind update. For this release of NVR firmware, it added PUSH function and MP4 file downloading.
The schedule for NVR to support HTML 5 without plug-in will be confirmed later. Thanks for your kind support. -
I upgraded my RLC-422 camera with the latest firmware, and my camera's live view is frozen almost always, the upload to FTP feature doesn't work reliably, and when it does, the video it uploads is frozen. I think the firmware update broke broke the camera. Any way to downgrade? I tried to re-apply the firmware, but i wasn't able to. Got an error that the firmware already matched. Any help is appreciated.
-
No, there were no power outages while the update was being applied. I sent an email to support last night, but haven't heard back yet. I just sent a second one.
Thanks! -
I received the old firmware and installed it. The old firmware seems to work perfectly. I attempted another upgrade to the latest firmware and the result was the same. The upgrade seemed to go fine, but the image in Live View was frozen and FTP didn't work. I downgraded again and the camera functioned fine. There must be something wrong with the latest firmware. Anyone else??
-
so you mean that the latest firmware of RLC-422 has the bugs about the image in Live View was frozen and FTP didn’t work? In your second upgrading the latest firmware, does it solve the problem? Or only can solve it by re-apply the old version firmware? please kindly suggest me, thanks in advance.

SO I'll be a little bit more clear now that I've had an opportunity to test some things.
I updated my RLC-422 camera to the latest version of the firmware (1168_16070804).
After the update, the "LiveView" screen, which is supposed to show streaming video, was "frozen." The image was still, the timer wasn't counting up, and it appeared to be a still image.
I tried reloading the web page several times. Most times, the image was "updated, but remained a still image.
If I reloaded the page several times, after a while the video seemed to work as expected, but never consistently.
EVERY time I logged out of the camera and then logged back in, the "LiveView" would be a still image.
Any "Video" uploaded to my FTP server "on motion," was a still image, and only for a second or two. As if the compression was screwed up somehow. Not being a video geek, I'm not sure how to describe this, but the video file was several MB's but the video in the VLC player, only flashed an image and ended. It seems to me, that a 30MB file should at least play for a minute or two at the 1080P quality, but it didn't
In an attempt to resolve this bug, I downgraded to the previous firmware version (806_16041904).
After the downgrade process, the camera tested fine. The video in the "LiveStream" view was fluid and clear. The FTP upload "on motion" feature worked and uploaded fluid video, all as expected.
I attempted another upgrade to the new firmware thinking I was having an issue with the upgrade, but the same problems I was having with my initial upgrade (still images in "LiveView") resurfaced after the upgrade, a second time.
Figuring this was/is a bug in the firmware, I downgraded again, and everything began working as expected.
I am now operating the camera using the older firmware (806_16041904) because the upgraded firmware (1168_16070804) seems to have a bug with the video stream that makes it completely useless as a security camera.
I really hope that the Reolink folks fix this issue, as I really like the newer MP4 format that the cameras upload to the FTP server, as they are much easier to play in the VLC player and the updated HTML code is much nicer.
Hope this helps clarify, Carl.
*An interesting thing to note: I do NOT recommend using the wrong firmware for your camera, despite my experiences described below.
I attempted to install the latest firmware for the RLC-411s camera onto my RLC-422 camera (1168_16070805) and after the update, my RLC-422's "LiveStream" worked and the MP4 files uploaded by the RLC-422 to the FTP site seemed to play just fine in the VLC player.
I went BACK to the new correct firmware for the RLC-422 (1168_16070804) and "LiveStream" started acting flaky again and the uploaded MP4 videos to FTP went back to being a flash of a still frame.
Back to the RLC-411s firmware (1168_16070805) and all seems to be working as expected. -
So up until the newest firmware revision (which is MUCH appreciated for the web UI at least), I've been using an RTSP stream to capture the video to my software.
The URL I've been using is rtsp://username:password@IPADDRESS:554//h264Preview_01_main
This URL seems to have been moved or changed. Does anyone have the newest one? -
The tested URL for previewing video is: rtmp://(ip address)/bcs/channel0_(stream type).bcs?channel=0&stream=0&user=(user name)&password=(user password). For example, the IP address of your IP camera is 192.168.2.119, and you want to preview in main stream, the user name to log in the camera is admin, and the password is 123456, you may use the following URL "rtmp://192.168.2.119/bcs/channel0_main.bcs?channel=0&stream=0&user=admin&password=123456" to get the preview images.

Thanks for your testing. Here is the suggestion for you:
1. Please upgrade your client to the latest version (V7.1.2.36) to check.
2. For the MP4 files, please try other player to check. Like ACG player.
3. About the RLC-422 camera firmware (1168_16070804), we had tested and have no the problem you said. But we would have a further test for that.
4. Please DO NOT use the wrong firmware for your camera to any test. -
Unfortunately, I don't see much in the way of exposed MP4 streams.
While the RTMP stream works in VLC, the RTSP stream url is nowhere to be found.
My software only supports the RTSP streaming protocol. Has that URL been documented? -
I have tried that URL, however it is no longer working. I noticed the webUI changed the stream types from Main and Sub to Clear, Fluent, and Balanced.
Is that reflected in the URL? -

Will the "Upgrade From Local" option be present only when a USB drive is inserted into the USB port?

I just updated the firmware of my RLC-410. The audio is now gone. Instead I just get very loud and rapid clicking. Suggestions?

I updated my 410 to the latest firmware. Now the ftp upload is uploading .mp4 files instead of .264 files. Also the .mp4 files seem to be corrupt as I cannot play them. Attached is one of the files.

I solved the problem. The issue was with the ftp server that I was sending the files to. I tried a different server and it is working fine.
