      Hello,
I have installed the Windows Client 8.5.1 software. I have successfully added 8 camera's to it using the UID method. The camera's are on another network and I access them remotely. No problems.
Now I have other camera's already working on my local area network that I can not add to the new client using the UID method. I was able to do this before with the older Client software, but not now.
Can you explain what I am doing wrong?
The new manual say's to connect the camera with an Ethernet cable connected to my router and scan for devices. Why has this changed from previous versions?
Do I really need to get out my ladder, dismount my camera's and bring them inside to get them added to the Client software?👎
      Please explain.
      Thank you
I should mention that these are all battery camera's, Argus 2 and Argus PT

What happens when you use the "Scan" option to find cameras? or the IP address method?

          1. Please make sure that you have used all the capital letters when you input the UID.

          2. You mention that you have added the camera in LAN, you can try to add the camera in a different network.

          3. Try to add the camera to your phone APP. If it can be added to the phone APP in LAN or WAN. It may be about the issue of the Client.

          4. If it is the issue of the Client, you can try to reinstall the 8.4.2 Client.

Crimp On - The Scan option terminates with "Error, No devices found". Trying with the IP method gives the same results. I have added 8 cameras at a different house using the UID method and had no problem.
These cameras are in my local network at my home and they are not recognised.
            Thanks

                Hello Fiona,
Yes I've tried all of your suggestions except downgrading to the older client.
To summarize, these cameras I want to add are already on my home network and are accessible from my phone app. They are not new cameras I'm trying to add but they are already connected cameras. I was using windows client 8.3.0 without a problem.
In 8.3.0, when adding them to the client, I was able to do exactly what I am trying to do now with 8.5.1. using the UID method. Further, when I input the UID number and press "Next", I am informed that
"I am adding a battery camera". I answer "OK", next window gives me a choice of "Connect to WiFi" or "Access Camera". I choose to "Access Camera", then the client tries to add the camera but an Error window pops up stating "Error Connection Failed".
                Hope this is clearer.
                Thanks

                    Fiona,
Just a follow up on the subject of not being able to add camera's to the client software version 8.5.1. This problem has been fixed with the release of client version 8.7
What ever was changed in the code with 8.7 now allows me to add the camera's. I guess this will remain a mystery.
The important thing is that it is now fixed.
                    Thanks🙂
