Reolink Doorbell Camera "appetizers" Here!

Apple HomeKit is a very secure system when compared with Alexa. Please also make a compatible version to work with HomeKit.

@reolink-fiona, I too am so excited for this new camera option, and as well would be interested in beta-testing. I have an NVR, and would prefer a POE option if available. I know that market is likely smaller, but if it still happens, I'd be willing to beta test for reolink with whatever data you need collected. Thank you all for bringing this to market!

@reolink-fiona I just upgraded 2 RLC-520's to a RLN8-410. Wanted to add a doorbell and what timing!! Looking forward to adding it to the system!

This looks awesome! I've been on the lookout for a good video doorbell for over 3 years now. I'm not impressed by anything on the market. My experience with Reolink cameras has been fantastic, and I reckon they could create a great video doorbell.
My primary wishlist is:
- bracket for installing on vertically-angled surfaces (e.g. weatherboard/clapboard/siding/cladding) – this is difficult to get for many doorbells, hence a lot of people can't use them
- reliable, low latency notifications and recordings (so I see the person's face and not the back of their head)
- no (or at least a very cheap) subscription – I don't want to be locked into paying hundreds of dollars over the lifetime of the device just to get essential features
- integrations: Webhooks, IFTTT, SmartThings (with SmartApps like WebCoRE), Home Assistant, etc.
- see the person's whole body and packages left on the ground
- good vision in dark/night and brightness/glare
- use Google/Alexa smart speakers as chimes, with the ability to mute/DND at night
- view and talk through a Google Nest Hub
- view and save recordings going back 1 week
- motion detection with configurable zones
- package delivery detection
- trainable face detection
- powered by existing doorbell wiring or battery

@reolink-fiona I know it might be hard to comment but do you have an estimated price bracket this will be released on and will there be a subscription cost like Ring?

@sridhar_283777405378721 Adding to my previous post, I suggest that you consider support for the emerging Matter standard, which should ensure interoperability with devices from Google, Amazon, Apple and others. I'd include a link to it, but your forum software doesn't permit me.
Hi there, thank you for your suggestion. For the link, you can also send me via the Community Chat.

I.m also in the need of a reolink doorbell camera, I already have 5 4k camera's and the 8 channel nvr.
I prefer a POE option. (only wifi is a no go for me)
When will the doorbell be available in the EU (Netherlands)
@mwhsmit6_478907306807478 Hi there, the available time is unknown now. When it is available, I will make an announcement. Stay tuned with us!

Please add time lapse like Ring. Other than that, you covered the major points but if can you make a 4k option as well, you would really stand out from competitors and maybe add an in app siren option also. I have had to reposition my existing doorbell cam higher so it captures a head-to-toe image. It would be great if the vertical FOV was close to 180 so the doorbell could stay in its original more aesthetic position.

+1 on poe input. Could be done via some mini terminal connector or something similar to nest and ecobee thermostats. Im trying to declutter my wireless network full of wyze + google assistant devices that force users to use wifi.

Hi @Reolink-Fiona, Any "appetizers" of the design & UI that you can show us yet?
We don't have the completed product photo to show now. Here is a sketch of the doorbell on our roadmap. You can have a look.

@reolink-fiona Looking good. From my perspective the following are desirable:-
Feed to NVR via PoE to avoid having to provide outside wireless in a solid stone household.
2 way voice comms
Head to toe coverage
Person and vehicle AI
Built in light (perhaps IR as well as Led?)
Internal sounder as we don't all run Alexa etc.
Push button for caller
Think that's it. Can't wait.

- Home Assistant compatible
- Blue Iris compatible
- No cloud needed

-Head to Toe is a MUST!
-Pre roll would be very nice as well
I wouldn't want to see subscriptions. I would rather pay more for the device than have a monthly sub.
By the way, are you looking at a Q3/Q4 release or it will be next year? I haven't bought a doorbell yet and I will hate myself if I buy one soon and then you release it.

I'm trying to decide between going all Reolink or all Ubiquiti. Reolink having a doorbell would probably push me over towards Reolink for sure. Especially since Ubiquiti's doorbell needs a very awkward adapter to use PoE.
I echo what everyone else has requested.
But also wanted to add:
-make sure it's data over PoE and not just PoE powered and still needed Wifi
-Still able to use the normal chime even using PoE as power/data source
-make the device (or have an adapter plate) fit over a single-gang box since most new builds that have PoE doorbell will come with Ring Elite. It would be great to not have to patch drywall.
-there definitely needs to be a light surrounding the doorbell button and it'd be a nice touch to have a downward facing light that turns on with motion.
-metal body or at least very good plastic build quality. Nothing worse than pressing on a doorbell and realizing the doorbell unit has some give and flexes or moves in any way.
Also, based on the roadmap picture, it would be nice if the logo was not so prominent. Ideally it'd have no visible logo or have the logo in a less conspicuous spot. Right smack in the middle isn't a very good look. If that's the final look of the doorbell, it's essentially a clone of the new Google Doorbell. Google can get away with the logo positioned there because it's just the "G" logo and it's the same color as the body so it's very minimal. Having it say "Reolink" in that space in a contrasting color would be pretty tacky.
Is there an estimated time of release? Reading through this thread it looks like it's been pushed back a bit if it was originally going to be April-May? Any chance it happens before end of summer?

@reolink-fiona Any need for an alpha/beta tester? I'd be happy to be a guinea pig for testing and feedback!

@reolink-fiona I’m confused when you say Q3/Q4… did something change? Any previous comment above only mentioned a mid to late Q2 release date. Any way you can provide clarification on the release timeframe and/or why it was pushed back?
