RLC-810A humming sound
-
Hello all,
I am new here and I have some issues / challenges that I can't figure out.
I have bought 3 x RLC-810A POE camera's.
Installation was easy but when I turned them on and configured them the challenges came up.
Two of the Three camera's have a humming sound during live feed and also on the recordings.
I have tried a few things like Factory resetting them and also installed the latest Client software on my iMac version 873 and have the latest client software on my iPhone version 4.30.0.8
Checked also if the Camera's have the latest firmware and that they do.
This didn't to the trick and also send the recordings to the Reolink helpdesk.
Maybe you all here could also have a idea what it could be. -

That sounds like interference from AC power lines getting into the audio portion of the cameras. Are the cameras near anything like that? Does the hum change sound when you move the power cord around? -

If you could measure the frequency of the hum and it was 60Hz, you would know it's AC interference. -

the camera’s it self are not Near any power lines only get their power by POE.
that’s why I find it so strange because I have also checked if the Ethernet switch is the problem.
but one camera is not having this problem and the other one is just a few inches away and that one has this problem and the second one who has this problem to is positioned on the roof.
i also did the check with disconnecting one camera after the other to see if that solves the problem but it didn’t.
maybe I need to shield the switch with a ground wire?
but then the next thought pops up is why the one that doesn’t have the problem is also connected to the same switch -

AC can't come in through digital data wires like through a switch. AC hum usually comes in through the power adapter and power wire and into the camera's audio portion of its circuit board. Try swapping the POE with one that doesn't hum, and try plugging one that hums into an extension cord that's plugged into a different outlet further away. -

i did swap the cables with the one that didn’t humm.
and that didn’t do the trick.
what I can try is plug the power adapter of the switch into a different power outlet and see if that helps? -
I had the same problem, with the same camera (810A). I contacted support and I sended back my camera and received a new one. Since I have the new one, the humming sound is gone.
With me, it was a hardware fault. -

well I also wrote a email to support with also audio/video recording of my issue.
i find this very strange.
but on the other hand I still have warranty -

I was thinking that you might received my old camera?
My UID ended like "EIBAS2WT" -

I just checked my UID code but I am glad it didn’t end on your info you gave me lol -

I meant the POE power injector that's the power adapter with the cables plugged into it. It sounds like from the other posts that it may be a camera problem and you'll need to get a different one.
