      Two Wi-Fi Doorbells. Finally got the Visitor push notification working. What a PITA to get working!!! Now I realize that the audio volume at the Doorbell is so low that you almost need to bend over and press your ear to the Doorbell. Really!!! and with no way to increase that mousey volume level??
      I can get over the fact that the push notification for VISITOR can not change the notification sound from the normal camera push notification (maybe).
      I can get over the inability to trigger the old school doorbell chimes (let's get real Reolink, everybody has them. Make them work with your Doorbell (maybe).
      But the whisper volume level for SIREN and Push to Talk is laughable, and not being able to increase the volume at the Doorbell, that's a non-starter.

        Do you use a Samsung smartphone?
        The android app has a major problem on Samsung smartphones. On Samsung smartphones it uses the microphone at the bottom (used to speak when holding the phone to the ear) and not the microphone at the top of the smartphone (used when talking in “speaker mode”).
        If you contact Reolink they will send you a newer version of the app which helps a bit with the problem because you can set the audio volume of the built-in speaker.
        Would still be far better if it uses the right microphone because I still have to hold my mouth at 1 cm distance from the smartphone so I can’t really watch the screen and talk at the same time.
        So please do insist that they use the right microphone when you contact Reolink.

            yea, having the same issue with a Galaxy S9+. I can hear everything on the phone just fine. Audio from the phone to the doorbell is whisper quiet. The pre-recorded messages play just fine and are loud and clear.

            Also, not sure if it's a microphone problem or not. It doesn't matter how I position the phone or even scream at it. It's quiet on the doorbell side.

              @ks This has been solved in the new Android client 4.35.0.7 by adding the volume control. This shall be shortly available in google play.

                Support sent me the new APK link, unfortunately it didn't solve my issue. I'm going to install the app on a different phone to make sure my actual doorbell isnt the issue.

                  @ks I have the same issue, do you know what shortly means? Because currently, the door bell is not usable
                  Perhaps, we can download it somewhere before it is avalaible on the Playstore

                        @ks I reported this issue when I was testing the doorbell. They forward me client 4.35.0.7 which added the volume control. I have it on samsung s10+ and Samsung s22.

                          @joseph-chircop_497308027822318 I'm sorry but that is not correct.
                          That new version (which I received as a beta) improves the situation a bit. However the difference with my wife's OnePlus brand smartphone is still nigth and day. She can hold the phone in front of her and watch the videostream on her smartphone while talking and it is loud and clear.
                          On my Samsung I have to speak directly into the bottom microphone holding it 1 cm from my mouth and then it is audible (but not more than that).
                          As I wrote above, the Reolink app should use the right microphone (the one at the top of the smartphone which is made for speakerphone mode, not the one at the bottom which is intended to be used when holding the phone against your ear).

                            @quizzical In my case the issue was from both mic and as stated the new upgrade did solve the volume. Kindly report it you Reolink support.

                                Are there others that are still facing this issue like me on their Samsung device?
                                With the added feature to crank up the volume I'm able to have a conversation by holding the microphone right to my mouth, but not while holding it at a distance (which works with other brand Smartphones).
                                Would be great if Reolink could use the correct microphone on samsung devices...(the one used when in speakerphone mode).

                                    @roero_622506978795586 Yes you can report it to Reolink by writing an e-mail to support[at]reolink.com I had to replace @ with [at] as the forum doesn't allow links.

                                    Here's an example that you can adjust to your needs:

                                    I just received the Reolink doorbell PoE.
                                    The android app has a major problem on my Samsung A53 and I have found reviews on multiple forums where others report the same problem with their Samsung smartphones. And I know others have written to you about this problem as well. Like many other smartphones, the A53 has a microphone at the bottom (used to speak when holding the phone to the ear) and a microphone at the top of the smartphone (used when talking in "speaker mode"). The reolink app unfortunately uses the wrong microphone (the one at the bottom) instead of the one at the top. Can you please fix this?
                                    I don't know why but even when I talk while holding the phone to my ear the sound on the doorbell is still far to low.
                                    I really hold that microphone right in front of my mouth to be somewhat audible.
                                    On my partner's Oneplus Nord everything works just fine.

                                    Your firmware update a while ago to boost the volume helped a little bit, but as it still uses the wrong microphone it is still not acceptable.

                                          @quizzical have reported it and had a brief discussion with support, they've passed my issue on and its still active. I've tried an old tablet (Leonovo from 2017) which works fine for volume at the doorbell, but is a bit underpowered nowadays to use for chat for it (and the battery doesn't last long enough to leave it where we would use it more). My Samsung Galaxy (S8+, so a bit older) is too quiet, just about audible when right up close to the doorbell on maximum app volume. My wife's S10 also is just as quiet. I saw someone say an S21 was fine. So maybe it's not ALL Samsung's. But more than just the odd one. And not just older Android devices (cos the Lenovo is fine). Maybe it is the thing someone suggested about using the wrong microphone - I did try it with a bluetooth headset connected but same result (maybe worse, so am not sure it uses the headset, maybe it was still using the normal phone mic, but could be persuaded that was me doing it badly if someone else sees it helping).

                                            Samsung S24 Ultra, S23+ and S21 Ultra all still has this issue with ALL Reolink cameras. I have 3 Doorbell's, 2x RLC-823A PTZ, 4x RLC-1224A and a Reolink Duo Floodlight and all of them have VERY low sound on my Samsung, If i use the volume slider in the app the sounds still is too low and it starts to crackle and making popping sounds. If i turn the slider down the cracking and popping sounds go away but even if I yell into the phone you can only hear it from the cameras if you have you ear within 1 foot of the camera. Bought this setup almost a year and still NO FIX even after sending support emails, phone calls etc... All this happens only on any Samsung phone I use. If i use it on my kids Motorola or iPhone everything works great.. Posted 4-16-2024

                                              Same problem here with a Galaxy S23 Ultra.

                                              Spent half of today trying to get the Reolink App Tap To Talk to come out of the Reolink doorbell but nothing.

                                              I've just installed the Reolink to replace a Ring but if I can't speak to a visitor at the front door it is not of any use.
                                              I may have to return the Reolink.

                                              Is there a fix available?

                                                Just now tried one of the kids really old Android phones and this works OK.

                                                So it is the Reolink App and the integration with the later generation phones.

                                                Can we have a fix?

                                                      I did and they suggested that I upgrade App version and camera firmware!
                                                      Of course these were first things I did.

                                                      Have tested on a Note 10+ and it also works on this.

                                                      Now had a proper reply from Technical Support.

                                                      They are aware of the issue but currently do not have any solution to offer.

                                                      Should have stuck with Ring, might be £5 month but at least it works!

                                                        I decided to switch back to Ring for the front door, works perfect.

                                                        Held onto the Reolink and fitted it at an outhouse as camera security.
                                                        The thing has now failed completely, comes online now and again but with lots of lines on the picture!
