Flash is Dead? Where is HTML5 Support?
-
When are you going to have a new firmware for the IPC_3816M cameras
-
Sorry that we will not update the firmware for the camera with the hardware number IPC_3816M since the camera version is old.
Could you please tell me why you need the new firmware? Do you need to access the camera on the browser? -
really no update for rlc-410 (3816M)?? I have a bunch of them....bought them about a year ago... and now I can throw them away???? Please tell me that you are joking...
-
I think the significant question is "Do you access these cameras using a web browser?" I believe if they are connected to a Reolink NVR or the Reolink Client software, they will continue to stream correctly. Web browsers are dropping support for Flash. When I first got my Reolink cameras, I verified that the web interface worked (as well as direct streaming through VLC Media Player), but I have not done that since.
-
I also have a bunch of IPC_3816M RLC-410S cameras and also need to access via web browser. We've been promised this update literally for YEARS and now we're told at the last minute "we won't be updating." This camera would not have been "old" if you had made the update years ago as you should have, rather than waiting until the last minute. We've waited and waited and now you say "we won't be updating." Please reconsider this. You're about to have a bunch of unhappy, former customers on your hands.

Could you please contact our support team https://reolink.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new to see if they can provide you with a better solution?
-
You can still access the cameras/NVRs in the Reolink APP/ Client.
-
for me the biggest problem that reolink client does not support proxy.
I'm in a company network (behind fw) and have access only through proxy. In this case, I cannot monitor whats happening at home. -
You can continue to use flash if you must in a browser that you use purely to connect to the cameras.
Eg
You could install Pale Moon for use with the camera.
https://www.palemoon.org/
I am not saying replace your current browser with Pale Moon but use it solely for connecting to the cameras. -
Cinthia,
The only solution is to provide an updated firmware with HTML5 for the IPC_3816M cameras. -

My cameras are still under warranty. When at the end of the year, some cameras are not updated, I'll return these under warranty.
Web access was a key feature which has been mentioned on the specs which then doesn't work anymore. Therefore that is broken and by our warranty laws, can be claimed.
However, let's first wait what cameras reolink will update before years end.
I would suggest you to do the same if that key functionality is broken for you. -
Is the info in the camera what you are looking for a photo of or the unit itself?
Or do you not know what your previous camera models look like?

Cynthia,
So when are you going to have a new firmware for the IPC_3816M cameras. The answer you will not have a new firmware is not acceptable. If this is going to be you answer I am going to ask every on this board that has a IPC_3816M camera post bad reviews on amazon stating that Reolink will not support there products once out of production. -
When will you release HTML5 support for Reolink RLN8-410(E)? I can't use my cameras now under Chrome, flash is blocked.
-
Using chrome and FF, flash works just fine.
-
Perhaps it would be helpful to clarify the issue Flash in regard to Chrome and Firefox.
a. No browsers will support Flash after 12/31/2020, including Chrome and Firefox.
This has caused frustration for customers who want browser access to the older cameras,
as it appears Reolink does not intend to update older camera firmware to support HTML5.
b. Using Flash with Chrome requires "activating Flash" (Google search).
Not sure about Firefox, as I deleted Flash from my computers months ago.
Most of the forum posts are about issue (a).
Is this Chrome/Firefox question about (a) or (b)?
