      Hi all,

I am quite new to this so apologies for the inept question!

I was checking some footage the other night via a Windows PC and I could not see the 1x, 2x, 4x playback speed options.
My assumption is the client version I have is probably too old (V7.2.2.33), however I can see this section of the forum contains threads about problems with the new version. I'm not sure I want to trade 1 problem for another haha.

Can anyone tell me a version which is stable, next to no bugs and the playback feature is present? Also where can I get this? On the website it points to the new version 8 and I cannot see a previous list etc.

      Thanks

        Hi

I might be able to answer the first bit about where the speed button is located in the latest version, it's on the bottom bar on the right hand side (see the image attached). The image is from v8.1.28 but I don't remember v8.1.20 being significantly different.

        Hope that helps!
        Gary

Actually that's is a good point, I think going forward I will keep copies of the previous versions but it would be handy if previous versions were also available to download.

It is suggested to use the latest version Client 8.1.28. Please believe that we are keeping improving our software. If you need the older Client, you can contact our support team at support@reolink.com

Thanks guys I will try updating the client. The current V7.2.2.33 doesn't seem to have it 😞

Ok I have updated to 8.1.28 but the problem remains. In fact I have a second problem now 😞

So Gary when I select NVR I can see the playback icon, however when I drag the camera onto the screen and pick any particular day to view the footage, the bottom of the screen looks like this (see attached). The option is missing.

The second problem is when I pick a day and press Play, there doesn't appear to be a button to pause and resume the video? If I click on the 'advance frame by frame' option it does exactly that (no problem with that feature), however I cannot see a Resume option to carry on playing the video.

I feel like I am missing something obvious here. I work in IT so although I'm new to the setup, I'm not a total moron hahaha.

Thanks in advance for anyone who can assist!

Just to add my NVR is an RLN8-410.
When I go into Menu > System via the NVR I can see the FW Version (assume firmware) is v2.0.0.122_19080208101
                  Cfg version is V2.0.0.0

                    Hi ylouis29

I think the play/pause button being missing may be a new bug in v8.1.28, I highlighted it in a separate thread:-

                    https://reolink.com/topic/release-notes/

Certainly odd with your speed button disappearing, I tried your steps on my system and the speed/frame advance buttons are both still there, no play button though. My NVR sounds the same as yours just with a newer FW version:-

                    NVR - RL8-410
                    Firmware version - v3.0.0.82_20102144
                    Config Version - v3.0.0.0

I couldn't say if that's the reason for the difference, I'm new to all this also.

                    Hope that helps!

I do think variable playback speed in windows client did also require updated device firmware for support. Although the firmware mention I think should be new enough.

The latest Client can adjust the playback speed, have you upgraded it to the latest one?

                            Hi Cynthia,

Yep the client has been updated (see earlier message above on this). Could you confirm if the Firmware I listed is the issue?

                            Thanks

Yes, you need to upgrade the firmware for your NVR. Refer to: https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360005131094-How-to-Upgrade-Firmware-via-PoE-NVRs?source=search
