New Windows Client appeared today on the Download web page. v8.2.0Would have been nice to have a Change Log or "What's New". (sigh)The button to Export configurations shows, but does nothing. The button to Browse for configurations to upload seems to work, but I cannot save a configuration to upload, so have no idea if that works or not.The missing Playback icon for "Speed" (or "Pause") is not there (which is understandable).Still does not remember the previous window size/placement. Opens in default size/place every time.
Thank you for your feedback. We will forward them to our R&D team. If there are other issues, you can contact our support team at support@reolink.com.
Hello,I just installed version 8.2.0.On my Windows 10 workstation, the NVR configuration export works and I have a file without extension with numbers (1615101531831) which corresponds to the date of the backup in milliseconds.1615101531831 = Sun 7 March 2021 08:18:51It is a binary file that begins with 'BCSC'.The bug on update check is fixed./topic/windows-client-8-1-28-update-check-failing/No other test yet.Bye
Thank you for sharing the information. If you have some problems with the new Client, you can contact us.
HiI agree a list of changes would be useful but it's nice to see the play/pause button has returned - thank you!The configuration export does seem to work for me also, I found I have to select a destination folder using the Configuration->Browse button before the export becomes clickable.Strange that it works for Gsrx38 but the update check still doesn't seem to work for me - "Checking Failed" displayed.I have had the video go blank once as with the previous versions, but found clicking the new "Refresh" button seems to be bring it back again, maybe a quicker alternative to closing and reopening it.Thanks
News ! Very funny, following Gary's message, I took another test this afternoon and surprised, it doesn't work anymore.???????
The Mac client 8.2.0 has the same behavior: choosing a destination folder "Export" button becomes clickable, but clicking on it does nothing. After a bit of wheel spinning I get "Export successfully!" but there is no new file in the selected folder.Anyway, the worst thing is that all battery status information is gone, both the little battery, charging and sun icons in the devices list and the former Battery section in Camera Settings. Moreover, now that information has suddenly disappeared even in previous versions (checked in 8.1.28. 8.1.25 and 8.0.5), where worked well before. This is a bad issue for us users of battery-powered cameras. Yes, it is still available in the app, but it makes no sense being forced to check the app only for that while using the desktop client.Battery-info-8.1.pngBattery-info-8.2.png
I've been using the client software since it's initial roll out. I keep hoping that someone would finally create a good piece of software but alas, I don't think it will ever happen here. Such frustration! The Windows client, to me, feels like a complete amateur show. The playback feature is a joke. Even the automatic software update is broken.I hate to be so negative, but it's hard to find any positives. Maybe Reolink can farm out the client software to the US and get a good working program.
Hello,I am embarking on an idea that could help Reolink and its users. Many users are technicians, we see it on the forums, here and elsewhere and on Youtube.Reolink should create a site for tracking bugs and requests for improvements like Bugzilla, Mantis, etc ...By streamlining this monitoring, it allows developers to have a clearer view of the problems and to benefit from the skills of the users. It also allows votes for improvements.Personally, I find the FAQ very good, this forum too, and the quick answers are very much appreciated. But I also admit that the software lacks validation!I worked for 35 years as an R&D product manager and seeing bugs like the version update test means a lack of validation of the software before release. And this is where Reolink could help with users.PS: I finished yesterday, my cameras and NVR implementation, and for information, I did the update test on the NVR directly, does not work either.Image1.jpg
A bug tracker for all those Reolink issues has been repeatedly requested by other users (and myself, because as a former system manager I'm aware of the advantages it would report), but without success so far. I don't know what risks they see in it.
Thank you very much for your feedback. We will give your feedback to the relevant departments. If they are accepted, they will be realized in the future. In addition, if you have any questions or suggestions for the client, you can also submit a request to https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/.
I just update to 8.20 and now I cannot see anymore the battery level (or if battery is solar charging) for my battery cameras, disappointed.
I see the same problem the export and import of the configuration files is gone.I like to backup my config in case I have a HW issue and need to replace my NVR, I miss that capability
Yup, no battery indication at all. Was this deliberate or has the app not been tested thoroughly?
Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. We will send your feedback to our engineers. They'll see whether they receive similar feedback and put it back in the next version.
The new client does not work with RLC-810A , I can see all my other cameras on the NVR but not the 810, it just shows video loss.
Could you see the RLC-810A on the monitor/TV?It is suggested to contact our support team at support@reolink.com to troubleshoot, so we can help you solve the problem quickly.
Running Mac 11.2.3Installed Reolink 8.2.0No battery level indicator, have to go use mobile app to get battery level ... needing to use two apps on two different devices is rather stupid!Battery operated (solar powered) cameras automatically connect, start recording and stay on until battery runs dead, no timeout. Already running one camera down every other day. If running app and the computer is powered off once you restore power, either by running app at startup or by initiating it manually, it comes on connects all the cameras starts recording. Not a bright move for a battery powered camera.Still no fixed setpoints for battery operated PT cameras, strange.
1. Are you referring to this function on the Client? Please see the attachment.2. If your camera has lots of false alarm, you can set a lower PIR sensitivity. If there is still no luck, you can contact our support team at support@reolink.com to troubleshoot.E5QIZDRFPLR8@2OF.jpg
