It's pretty clear that connecting a device through the QR code or UID relies on a separate, Reolink owned, service.  It works fine, but that's a deal breaker for me because if Reolink ever goes out of business or suspends the service, we'll lose the ability to check cameras on our phones.

Therefore, I tried to connect to the phone using IP/Domain.  However, it fails to connect.  When I click on the video screen, the status says "Login.." for a while and then "Login failed."

The ports necessary have been automatically opened on my firewall via UPnP.

I'm using a 410 with the latest firmware, connecting to it through the iOS app latest version (3.3.21).  I want to reiterate that the app works when connecting via QR/UID since the standard reply here seems to be "check your password" and "check if the camera can connect to the internet."

If you tried to log into the camera with Domain mode on Reolink App:

Please check the value of the “Media port” for your Reolink product.
Go to “Device Settings” >> “Network Advanced” >> “Port Settings” to check it.

Then, forward the “Media port” to the IP address of Reolink product on the router.
Please note: Different routers have different page to set up. You may refer to the router user manual for details.

Only after you forward port on your router can you access your camera via Domain mode on Reolink App 🙂

          That worked, thank you!

To clarify, the camera does not automatically open the Media Port port via UPnP like it does with other ports.  Therefore, you have to manually forward that port on your router/firewall to the same port at the camera.

I use a private VPN solution to permit myself access to my cameras as I often do not trust UPnP to keep my network secure.  I have friends that have leveraged the port forwarding solution given by @Bob Bryan above with success.  Glad to hear you got it working.

              Hi,

I have port forward 9000 on my router, but I still could not access it using the Domain on my Android app.

              Please help.

You could try to forward the other ports.  UPnP is not always supported, so you may need to open them manually for your device.

Now I am able to access it with uPnP checked.
