@pab_276175744979080 Hi Pab.I heard back from the Reolink Pre-sale Team:
The Chime would connect to the POE/Wifi IP Doorbell cameras via RF 433.92MHz.
@dgordon42_415060065599711 from Reolink Pre-sale Team. The Chime would connect to the POE/Wifi IP Doorbell cameras via RF 433.92MHz.
@pab_276175744979080 I would also like to know if the PoE doorbell uses wifi to signal the chime.
@mdunning_323765759099098 @nivek-retsel_503740308148405 @admgeo_136805241430192 Hi there, about the FOV, thank you for pointing out the shortage. I have discussed this with our product manager. We will keep collecting your request to better improve the doorbell product line. This late in the game it may be difficult to implement hardware changes, but what about software? If I mount the doorbell horizontally can you get the software to correct the video?
bumping my question - can you include rotation of the video your firmware?

@seanbmah_414814205931759 It will come in the second half of the year. Thank you so much for your waiting! We will keep the latest news for you.
How is it looking for a July release?
@reolink-lorenz I have a suggestion regarding tamper protection for the POE version: if the NVR detects that the doorbell has been tampered with or stolen (i.e., removed from the wall without first removing it from the NVR's channels), the NVR will software lock down the ethernet port being used by the tampered doorbell. This is so that no one can gain access to the NVR or the rest of the network by ripping out the doorbell and plugging into the exposed ethernet wire. This would be great for all POE cameras, but the doorbell is most exposed due to it's location. The feature could also be 'paused' while installing and the user could turn it on in the NVR after the installation is set.
I would love to see a firmware update that adds package detection as an option to the cameras - we could turn it on or off as needed. Package detection would have its own alert like Person or Vehicle detection, but could also send another push notification if the package has been sitting for some time, set by the user. With such an AI upgrade, I could point an rlc-510a camera at my porch, and receive a notification when a package has been left there. Then, another notification if the package is still there 30 minutes later, etc.
estion. I have already forwarded your words to our dev team and they will see if it is possible to add an option for users to disable the blinking LED.Thank you for your quick response.
https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900000639486-Introduction-for-Status-LED-of-Reolink-NVRsAs you know (and as is documented above), a red blinking light indicates that the NVR is recording to the HDD. However a red blinking light is often used to indicate an error rather than normal function, so it's kind of jarring every time I see it. Can you update the firmware so that this blinking light be configured via software so we can choose to enable or disable it in the settings?
@nickm_495538090946719 Luckily you can use other search engines with some success. Here's a LMGTFY link.https://lmgtfy.app/?q=camera+site%3Acommunity.reolink.com
I didn't see it mentioned, but HDR is a must too.
@aaron There will be a PoE version with 24/7 recording. The trial program is not decided yet. You can pay attention to our announcement or see the news on the trial page, Reolink Trial - Reolink.
That's great, thank you for the update.
Good morning folks!I have installed an RLC-822A and have discovered that it does send me notifications when a light is turned on or off. Perhaps this is due to the sensitivity settings I have selected, but it's a pleasant discovery for me, as it means that motion detected by floodlight sensors can trigger an alert from the camera.Really happy about this. For Reolink - this might be a good AI update. If the camera's AI determines a light has turned on, it can send a more specific alert.
I was reading about PIR sensors and how they work. I came across this image and found it quite useful. If I understand it right, because you have to move across the detection area from left to right or vice versa, detecting motion coming straight at the sensor is difficult. Here's a question for the tech guys: if the camera had dual PIR sensors, one in the horizontal orientation and a second in vertical orientation, would that solve the problem of direct approach to the camera?
@admgeo_136805241430192 It will be available in late April or early May. Stay tuned!
Great! Definitely looking forward to it. I certainly hope there is a 24/7 POE version! Do you need early testers?
@aaron this would be great, another thing that would be useful along these lines is a combined alert and/or alert suppression with degrees of severity. So say one camera detected motion for 1 second in a small portion of the detection area, this could be a low severity alert, whereas if 3 cameras all triggered for 5 seconds combined that could generate a high severity alert.
There is a dual tech PIR sensor available that uses a standard PIR alongside a microwave sensor of some kind. I think these may be much more expensive though, and would require new hardware, but they would reduce false positives.Daisy chaining sensors would allow your camera to "see" around corners, bushes, trees, etc., increasing the detection range and speed, but could also add more false positives. I feel that a few false positives aren't too bad, as long as the camera is able to record the events on time and doesn't miss a subject walking past the camera.
