@reolink-fiona Duo 2 PoE is an absolute beast. I have no clue how you guys manage to squeeze in so many features into this cam. I have setup a handfull of them and it's like going from manual to automatic transmission in a car. The two lenses tailors the 2 pictures together perfectly and Smart detection is extremely reliable in my setups. Painting the camera house was so easy to make it more discrete, so even my wife stopped complaining which is worth 5 stars in itself (I sincerly hope she is not reading this).
@reolink-fiona Will do....will do I am maybe just dreaming of a public beta-test.
Hi Fiona,We all love this feature. I use it on my RLC-810A and RLC-820A but it still says Beta.Last firmware update for these cams are April 2022. Maybe time for a refreshed firmware and Beta marking removed from Pet detection ?All the bestDavid
Happy holidays
Complete echo that David. Many other vendors have a beta-program for technical people to enter. This is to evaluate and find bugs.I also had to open made-up tickets with support just to get a more recent firmware. Waste of time.Let's have some sort of beta-access where people download and uses beta on their own responsability.
Hi,Release notes for IOS App 4.33 mentions:"【Optimization】Pet detection switch removed"Does this mean that Pet detection is out of beta now ?
Hi Bob,I had a defective RL-810A which I did a RMA on. Reolink asked me to send the camera back to them and find a cheap method of transportation - less that 15€.I did (and send them the shipping cost invoice) and they quickly shipped me a new camera. They gave me a refund on the transportation. It was fast and swift.I can only say that I had a very positive experience. David
I have a setup with SS 9.01 and four Reolink Cams. One being RLC-810A and three being RLC-820A. I believe 810 and 820 share the same code and hw base.I never setup my cams using ONVIF. I select the cams manually using IP-address, brand (Reolink) and model (RLC-810A). This way I ensure I get the Synology built-in advanced features such as Person, vehicle and per detection, which by the way works flawlessly in 4K resolution. I do always create a seperate userid inside the camera for my SS9 to authenticate. This is to avoid using the standard "Admin" account which does not bring much security in my view. I setup that user under System -> User-management in the web-client of the cams. Be sure to create such as user as administrator since SS9 needs to be able to manipulate camera settings as you set them under in SS9.On my cameras I have enabled nothing but HTTPS on port 443 and RTSP on port 554. I did that using the web-interface on cameras (you can also use the Reolink Client). In the SS9 IP Cam settings App (under information) I also made sure to select Firmware: >= FW 3.0.0.250_21040803 during setup. Under Advanced I simply selected:Transport protocol: AutoKeep-alive methid: Options (default)Streaming source information: RTSPFrame time correction: By streamingUnder Event detection and Advanced detection I can slect Person, Vehicle and Pet as I see fit. This only becomes selectable when using non ONVIF (Hence why I don't use ONVIF).I hope this helps.
Hi,You might want to check that the Synology firewall isn't blocking ingres traffic from your camera.
Hi @isbjerg_533024393896188 On the newer camera firmwares (3.1 an later) some features are disabled by deafault - such as ONVIF. This is for security reasons. I do not recommend to use ONVIF with SS 9.0 as Advanced Events wont be detected and that is probably the strogest feature of this brand of camera.I always setup a new camera using the Reolink Windows Client - Link to the latest 8.7.3 here:https://home-cdn.reolink.us/files/client/electron-release/Reolink%20Setup%208.7.3.exeThat client easily discovers my Camera. I then note it's IP address and create a user inside the camera that I use for https connections from Surveillance Station (SS) and to the camera.I go into settings -> Network -> Advanced -> Port setting and make sure to enable RTMP, HTTPS, RTSP using their default ports. I Leave HTTP and ONVIF disabled.Hope this helps.
I grabbed 8.7.3 here:https://home-cdn.reolink.us/files/client/electron-release/Reolink%20Setup%208.7.3.exeWorking just fine.
