How ColorX Technology Turn Night into Day
Reolink App v4.41 Released
@user_637858729103451_637858729103451 Saved them to my hard drive. Copied some of the old versions to my dropbox if you want them. They'll only be available a couple of days.
It would be nice if Reolink sold a corner mounting bracket with pre drilled holes that would fit their PTZ & PT cameras. Being able to mount a camara to a building’s corner would allow for 270-degree surveillance of the building.
Can't get to the download b**ton on the download screen, it doesn't fit on my 1920 x 1080 display. And there's no way to resize or move the download screen to get the download b**ton to show so I can't download any videos.
@mblaser “Mblaser”, thanks for the link to your great Reddit review. Your videos and details were awesome. Your review will definitely be use on any decision I make on buying one of these new cameras. Link is bookmarked! Thanks for your “6x hybrid zoom” explanation and the specifications for the two lenses.
Here are what I was given for the specs of each lens:Wide angle: 3840x2160 (8MP) @ 25fps. f=2,8mm, F=1.6 Angle H 104°V 60°Telephoto: 1920x1080 (2MP) @ 20fps. f=8mm, F=1.6 Angle H 38°V 21°
Nice to see the telephoto at 20 fps, but I’m guessing it drops down into the 10-12 fps. under low light conditions like the other Reolink cameras. Ghosting/smearing of moving object is a problem with Reolink cameras and agree, that Reolink should bring back the old ghosting/smearing image controls. They’ve been including spotlights on the newer cameras and forget about the people who want to track animals that enter their yards and can’t use those lights in fear of spooking the critters. I liked your deer and squirrel videos, very helpful because I use my cameras mainly to capture the night time critters. Thanks for the different “Tracking method” videos! That’s the first I've heard about about those options! The telephoto auto tracking is far better than I expected and is quick to focus and doesn’t seem to blur (unlike my RLC-R823a camera). Although the telephoto zoom doesn’t seem as tight during nigh time to me. Looks like it will be a great camera and hope Reolink keeps refining the firmware to make it even better before it hits the public for purchase.Great review, very informative and helpful!John
This beta version has fixed the problem of downloads hanging when downloading a large number of videos. It is also a lot quicker and better than the current official release. But the download problem was also fixed in the last beta version but the file changes never made it to the official release. Hopefully these file (downloading) changes make it to the official release!!!
Give preset points start times. Would like to have the camera monitor different locations at different times of the day. Example: Parking lot at night, entry door during the day.
@reolink-fiona Client version 8.5.2 has also fixed the scaling problem I was having with the download window and not able to see the download b**ton. Everything now fits and I'm able to click on the download b**ton. And I like the new changes made to the download window(s). Thank you!
Argus 2 camera strapped to a rain gutter of my house and is about 6 ft. from the bird bath.
I have four Argus 2 cameras and an Argus PT (2k). I replaced one of my Argus 2 at the same location with the PT (2K). I mainly use them to capture critters that wonder into my yard. Argus PT (2K) vs Argus 2 Pros:. Better image detail and better night vision.. Smart Motion detection (Person/Vehicle). Great for limiting alerts and works well.. Pan and Tilt. Great for alignment of image where you want it.. 16x digital zoom vs 6x for the Argus 2 Argus PT (2K) vs Argus 2 Cons:. Slower to wake up and record.. WIFI connection seems a little bit touchier.. Larger in size (Not a big deal for me).. The battery is not replaceable. The PT (2k) is superior except for the slower wakeup time to record. Which is a decrement in capturing the quick moving critters moving thru the image.
@user_760857482866870_760857482866870 Its not automatic zoom, but 3D zoom is pretty darn nice!
@joseph_1979 Guess I fell lucky ... looks good for me.
Great improvement using the new version on Windows 11, loads camera's faster and downloads quicker. And it looks nicer! So far, so good!
@user_594808079581271_59480I'm currently running v8.12.1 without problems . Here's a link to a folder with older versions.https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/blc26xu2wazlhvym7nnvw/h?rlkey=l9t0l5b449o2jmyl0fnrs2i0k&dl=0
I had a similar problem which was corrected with a firmware update. I believe v188.8.131.527_23061923_v184.108.40.206 is the latest update.
@john_350143387672724 There is new firmware version for the 823a 16x camera in the download center that now will also support auto-tracking when in patrol mode. GREAT new feature!v220.127.116.117_23061923_v18.104.22.168
I got the same "wrong format" message when I tried updating my RCL-823 16X which on firmware (v22.214.171.1240_23041423_v126.96.36.199) with the above mentioned firmware!
The download screen is missing the video selection type for the RLC-820a camera. I have the latest firmware (v188.8.131.526_22041501) and have rebooted the camera. I have also deleted the camera and added it back to the windows client.
3D Zoom is a great new addition!
@railfan-arizona_485965826351268 I can confirm. I downloaded v184.108.40.2067_23051711_v220.127.116.11 from Reolink's website and installed it. It has now been removed and is no longer available to download. Its been working fine without problems so far!
