@joseph_1979 I hear ya. It's kinda odd that they keep releasing these clients with the same issues ( locking up and black screens). I guess not enough people use the client on a daily basis to monitor a remote NVR.
@joseph_1979 negative, 8.8.5 is the last version that doesn't lock up for me. and yes I have all the updates, also this clean OS install is about 1 week old.
@joseph_1979 it is on all 5, just didn't want to upload 5 images showing what I did. and the version is 8.10.2 but I've been locking up on the "new" clients since 8.8.5.
@crimp-on_62210811129 Windows 11 Pro, and I have not tried the client without showing the live view. It's literally the only reason I use the desktop client; is to view the cameras. and I can't event display all the cameras (12 in total) because the client locks up faster when showing more.
@joseph_1979 I'll run it today with a higher priority. As for the amount of process, It's a new Windows 11 install with Discord, Reolink, PIA, and Adobe Creative installed ( and drivers). but that's about it.
I'm going to assume this client ( and past few versions) has some sort of memory leak or the process isn't releasing the memory back to the system. As after 3 hours or so, my client shows a 30-45 second delay from what actually happens in real-time. Shortly after that, it becomes unresponsive and will not close the application from the X. You have to use the task manager and close the Reolink.exe that uses the most memory before the other sessions of reolink.exe close. Then you can reopen it with everything working fine for a little while.Even when the client locks up, the task manager shows the reolink.exe climbing steadily in memory usage. Here is the start at around 1:30 PMHere is the end where the client locks up and becomes unresponsive. About 4:20 PM
@user_692173041451191_692173041451191 Uninstall it, reinstall from a version in this linkhttps://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360012466173-All-Reolink-Client-Versions/
@joseph_chircop I get what you're saying, but the Beta clients have the same issues and have been reported numerous times. Why even release these beta clients if you're going to ignore the bugs and push a "release" version to the public with the same issues?Just really confusing.
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 If it's a known issue, then why are they knowingly releasing new clients with the same issues over and over?
Same issue as before. Client locks at random times. 8.10 beta wasn't perfect; but I could display 4 feeds without it locking up. I can't display my 12 cameras at once without issues on any of the clients. Might be time to go back to HikVision.
@user_612681119584296_612681119584296 If your cameras are plugged into the POE ports of the NVR, they are getting their IP's from the NVR; not your DHCP server. Those IP's will not be routed beyond the NVR ( without actually configuring the static routing on your router or layer 3 switch correctly). You can still have your NVR on a vlan and all those cameras would still be behind that vlan, just not accessible directly by the individual IP's.As for just plugging in the a new NVR and it taking over your cameras without setting a password, I have never experienced that. ( Unless I never setup a password on the cameras to begins with. In fact, I hate that I have to go to the NVR physically in order to input the username/password of each camera inorder to add the cameras to the NVR at all. ( I do not use the POE ports on the NVR, I have a seperate POE switch and vlans in order to have more control over my system.)This seems to be the standard configuration for NVR's as it's the same thing I had to do with my older Hikvision system.
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 Support sent me the new APK link, unfortunately it didn't solve my issue. I'm going to install the app on a different phone to make sure my actual doorbell isnt the issue. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uf0G_w53SJB3H7187AbidjrO1OMMutcM/view?usp=share_link
This is the "updated" version that will show up on the google play store soon.https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uf0G_w53SJB3H7187AbidjrO1OMMutcM/view?usp=share_link
yea, having the same issue with a Galaxy S9+. I can hear everything on the phone just fine. Audio from the phone to the doorbell is whisper quiet. The pre-recorded messages play just fine and are loud and clear. Also, not sure if it's a microphone problem or not. It doesn't matter how I position the phone or even scream at it. It's quiet on the doorbell side.
If I had one suggestion for the doorbell; would to add or change the notification sound when someone rings the the bell specifically. My notifications are getting lost from other reolink cameras detecting the person before they get the opportunity to ring the bell. That was the one good thing about having a reolink camera system with a Ring doorbell. Having a separate app to answer when people push the button, and the different notification sound for different events.
@michaelsingh02_561958001434848 looks like you're getting reflections from the internal LED's bouncing off that ceiling / over hang. You could try to point the camera down towards the driveway a bit more to see if it clears up.I have somewhat of the same issue with my house lights, and I have to keep the lenses spotless or I pickup white blurs like that as-well
@reolink-fiona I've tried everything over and over again. When you disable hardware decoding; the freezing happens sooner. It's very random, about 4-5 times a day I have to restart the client. The program doesn't seem to be locked up as I can make settings changes when the live feed video is frozen and those changes are reflected on the next time the program is opened. Nothing I can do within the frozen client will restart any video feeds, I have to close the application and re-open it for it work. 8.5.2 is the latest client that works without freezing at all. I have several RLC-822A's, RLC-811A's and Duo's, all on POE but a separate Cisco switch handles the POE specifically. The reolink NVR handles only the recordings etc.System specs in attached image:
8.8.0 is still randomly freezing the live camera views. This is the 3rd update in a row that hasn't fixed the issue. 8.5.2 is the latest version that still works as intended. This is getting old...
@torbjorn_nesso_228923583074494 The only version that is stable for me is 8.5.2All the newer ones constantly lockup the live streams, and require a client restart to get them up and working again.
8.7.2 is still randomly freezing on windows 11, the same as it was with 8.7.1. 8.5.2 still works perfectly.
