@reolink-fiona Any news on webhooks or MQTT?
@reolink-fiona All of the PoE cameras look interesting to me, but I'm not expanding my system until I can get it working properly with Home Assistant. There is a new integration, but it is not working well with my NVR, and there seem to be some serious limitations. I'd really love to see camera AI event webhooks -- and even better, direct mqtt support!
@jhoggardw_241809056227551Have you checked manually for new firmware? The on-device "check for new firmware" for some reason does not always have the actual latest.
Does this support AI motion events? I'm trying to get these into Home Assistant, and the existing integrations don't work well. I'm wondering if an intermediary might make it easier.

On Android, this update still has the same problem I've had for while — can't connect to my NVR either for live or playback on cellular but works fine on wifi. Even 5G doesn't work, while some random low-quality public wifi is fine.Hardware decoding setting so doesn't matter. Same problem on my wife's phone and mine. It briefly worked last year, but then some update broken it.
@aj-gd_473669729493133Ugh...yeah — half the reason I bought then NVR was to avoid buying a PoE switch. I expected an integrated solution that just worked.
Theres only 1 catch, you can not set them up using the NVR. the NVR only refreshes all at data when the camera in channel 1 detects movement. You need to set the cameras directly to the LAN using POE to them
Wait, how are you doing this? Doesn't the NVR act as a gateway for its own private net, with no direct access to the cameras? Can it be configured to allow direct connection instead? Can they be configured that way and still record to the NVR? That seems like it would simplify things, at least until the webhooks and everything get straightened out. 2
@platinum_jello_528733688770693To be meaningful, restrictions like this need to be enforced in the stream, not just on the client. Otherwise, someone could reimplement the client and get around the limitation.
An update a few months ago dangled the possibility of cameras (and, hopefully, NVRs!) getting the ability to make an HTTPS (that is, web) request to a custom URL when an AI event triggers. This would be incredibly useful for my home automation. Is there any news on this?
