Step-by-Step Setup:
Unbox and Connect Your Home Hub Pro
Start by connecting your Home Hub Pro to your router using an Ethernet cable. Make sure it's powered on and connected to your network. You'll be able to manage everything from this centralized device!
Add Your Cameras
The Home Hub Pro supports up to 24 cameras. You can add Reolink PoE cameras, Plug-in Wi-Fi cameras, and most recently released battery Wi-Fi cameras (except 2MP battery and 4G models). For best results, ensure your cameras are placed strategically—entry points, driveways, backyards, etc.
Configure Your Storage
The Home Hub Pro comes with 2TB of local storage, expandable up to 16TB. This means you can store a lot of footage without any recurring costs. You can even set up motion detection recording for optimizing storage use.
Wi-Fi 6 Setup
If you’re using Wi-Fi cameras, pair them with your Home Hub Pro to enjoy Wi-Fi 6 connectivity*, which offers faster speeds and better coverage—up to 1000 square meters! This ensures smooth, lag-free video streaming even for larger properties.

Tips for a Seamless Setup:

• Position Cameras Wisely: Consider areas with high foot traffic and wide angles. Use high places to get a better view of the surroundings and reduce blind spots.
• Expand Storage as Needed: If you’re adding a lot of cameras, or want to keep footage for longer, consider expanding your storage. The 16TB max is perfect for those with larger properties or who want to store footage for months at a time.
• Wi-Fi Optimization: For the best coverage, position your Home Hub Pro in a central location in your home, ideally near your router. This helps ensure your cameras have a strong and reliable signal.
• Regularly Check Camera Feeds: With up to 24 cameras, it's easy to lose track! Set reminders to check your footage regularly, or even better, use motion detection to alert you when something’s going on.

If you’re using a Reolink solar panel to keep your battery-powered cameras charged, here are some pro tips to optimize its efficiency and troubleshoot common charging issues. Let’s dive in!

OPTIMIZING SOLAR PANEL EFFICIENCY

1. Perfect Placement & Angle
   1. Install the panel where it gets maximum sunlight year-round. The ideal tilt angle equals your local latitude ±5° (e.g., if you’re at 40°N, angle the panel between 35°–45°).
2. Avoid Shadows & Obstructions
   1. Even a tiny shadow from trees, buildings, or debris can drastically reduce efficiency. Keep the panel clear of all obstructions.
3. Don’t Mount It Flat!
   1. A horizontal panel collects dust/dirt faster, blocking sunlight. Tilt it slightly to let rain wash debris away naturally.
4. Clean Regularly
   1. Wipe the panel with a damp cloth every few weeks to remove dust, bird droppings, or snow.

TROUBLESHOOTING: SOLAR PANEL NOT CHARGING?
Symptoms:

• Camera charges fine via DC adapter but not via solar panel.
• Battery level stays the same, drops, or rises extremely slowly.

Fix It in 6 Steps:

1. Check Sunlight Exposure
   1. Ensure the panel gets direct sunlight for most of the day. Reposition if needed.
2. Verify Connections
   1. Confirm the panel is plugged into the camera properly. Look for a lit battery indicator or the solar icon in the Reolink app.
3. Mind the Temperature
   1. Charging only works between 0°C to 45°C (32°F–113°F). Below freezing? Bring the camera indoors and use the DC adapter.
4. Reduce Power Drain
   1. High motion alerts or frequent live views drain the battery faster than solar can recharge it. Try:
      1. Lowering PIR motion sensitivity
5. Reducing live view frequency

6. Test with a DC Adapter First
   1. Charge the battery to 50%+ using the adapter, then reconnect the solar panel. Monitor for 24 hours.
7. Swap Test (If Possible)
   1. Try a different solar panel to rule out hardware issues. No spare? Skip this step.

Why Use a Home Hub?

Step 1: Set Up Your Home Hub

1. Connect Home Hub to your network via Ethernet or Wi-Fi.
2. Pair Battery Devices: In the Reolink app, add your Argus Track/Doorbell Battery to the Home Hub (Settings > Device > Add Device).

Step 2: Enable HA Integration

1. Enable RTSP/ONVIF on the Home Hub:
   • Open Reolink app > Settings > Network > Advanced > Toggle RTSP and ONVIF.
2. Add Home Hub to Home Assistant: 
   • Go to Settings > Devices & Services > Add Integration > Reolink.
   • Enter the Home Hub’s IP address and local credentials (set in the Reolink app).

Step 3: Optimize for Battery Life

• Avoid 24/7 Streaming: Use snapshots or motion-triggered automations instead of live feeds.
• Monitor Sleep Status: Check the sensor.[camera_name]_sleep_status entity to ensure devices enter low-power mode when idle.
