I've got about 30 Reolink cameras, and I lose one about every 6 months. Symptom is always the same. Just dead.Camera won't power on from either 12V adapter or POE.No IR lights, no LAN link light, nothing.Happens to all different models. What is causing this?
You still didn't answer the question...What is the battery used for?
Even though its 1080P the image quality is noticeably better than the 5MP Reolink.
There are still image quality issues with Reolink and BlueIris. My Foscam 720P and 3Mp HIK Vision cameras have a better image in BI than a 4MP Reolink cameras has. I noticed if I drop the Reolink image down to 1080P, I still get the same quality image as the 4MP image, but about 1/3 of the size! The Reolink image is beautiful inside the Reolink app, but it does not display well in Blue Iris for some reason.Reolink really needs to figure out why their image quality sucks so bad in Blue Iris. They also need to release their API!There also needs to be a way to get a snap shot with the resolution you want, rather than just the default set in the GUI, ie.curl http://camera/cgi-bin/api.cgi?cmd=Snap&Channel=&RES=1920x1080 or RES=2560x1440 etc.
I configured an RLC-422 for NOIP.COM and it’s not updating the IP of the hostname. I have quadruple checked everything. Why isn’t NOIP updating working? I am using the latest firmware downloaded yesterday.
Earth to Reolink, come in Reolink....Does this feature really work?

Where is the disable auto focus feature? I looked everywhere and do not see it.
1) I just upgraded to the lastest firmware w/o resetting and many of my settings, especially pertaining to email where wiped out.2) I have configured a camera with NO-IP but my no-ip host is not getting updated. There is no "test" button like there is with the email configuration. So I have no idea how often the cameras push an update to no-ip. Is it on a regular interval? Only when a change occurs? There is no way to test or debug this feature.3) I will look at this.4) I am having the same Blue Iris issues that everyone else has reported on this forum. There was a good thread on the issue, but search is not finding it now.5) The attached CGI is in-adequate. It only shows how to grab a snap shot. Reolink needs to document how to do everything possible. We've been waiting more than year for this support. Meanwhile you keep releasing new products. How about making the stuff you have released and are currently selling work first?
Myself and many others have reported issues with Reolink cameras that just don't seem to be getting resolved. This is severly impacting the use of these cameras. Since Reolink seems to be ignoring these issues, I'm going to consolidate them here. Please feel free to comment below and I will update this post as things change.
Maybe this helps.
Thank you!
Hi, guys. Do you mean when you wanna upgrade firmware of IP camera remotely, the time-out problem occurs and upgrade fails? I made this guess based on what you posted here. Anybody can explain why there is a situation like “one of them is on a 1M/100K DSL line”. I think this is quite old-fashioned sys.. Plan to upgrade the connection first?
If I could upgrade the line, don't you think I would? Not every location in the world has access to fiber connections.
Again, nothing but Crickets. Has REOLINK gone out of business?

We have our engineers testing on the CGI commands now, we will notify you if there’s any update. Thanks for your support!

3 months later...How much testing does this need?
Hello, we also have problems with the autofocus but on the RLC-423. While one can set up defined presets of position and zoom, the focus is not saved. After recalling a defined position the camera refocuses again if a different zoom setting is used, even if the focus was precisely tuned for that position before the position was saved. The api is fine and it’s quite easy to control the camera with json requests (though unfortunately not documented, it was not too hard to figure out) but not saving the focus to the presets renders the camera unusable for us, since it get’s the focus quite frequently wrong when there are things in the foreground or the camera is behind some window. We bought the camera for evaluation purpose and though the picture quality is quite good, we’ll have to stick to our old brand models at least until this is implemented in the firmware. Besides from that it’s a nice camera.
I'm having this problem too. When is it going to get fixed?
I installed the 1275_16102903 firmware on my 423. The snapshot feature is broken again and is having the same problem that the 1168_16070800 firmware had that the 1609 firmware fixed. Can't you guys get this stuff right?
Can we please get an update on this issue?
I have 3. One of them is on a 1M/100K DSL line...Yes, 100K upload. The camera does not work well with either the Reolink client or the web page. With the client, if always says it failed accessing the parameters. The only way to use the camera is the jpg snapshot feature, which works fine.I was able to physically get to the camera last week and update it with the latest September firmware, but I'm still having the same issues.
I have already put in a feature request to add more DDNS providers. Please speak up as well telling Reolink you need more as well, as the current list is totally insufficient.I would like to see afraid.org and duckdns.org added.
I have several cameras over several different slow links. I am unable to upgrade the firmware on these cameras because the upload process keeps timing out. I'm also having a hard time updating settings and not able to update firmware using the Reolink client, as it keeps erroring out.It seems that the processes mentioned above are far, far too aggressive on timing out when dealing with slow and high latency links. Please back off on the timeouts and give the data time to get there.
So far so good on the new firmware.
Welcome Back!
