Hi everyone! Thank you for offering insight in the survey yesterday. It will help us a lot. Now comes the third day of our event! Today we will share Product & Feature Roadmap in 2022 (Q1 & Q2) with you.
Product Roadmap:
1. 1212A (bullet) & 1224A (dome) optimized version: IR light+spotlight+two-way audio+106°FOV+f=2.8mm
We heard your wish for the 12MP cameras and the IR light for the stay-on spotlight cameras. Now new 12mp cameras are beasts!
2. Video doorbell
This doorbell will support both PoE and wifi connection. Haven’t known other parameters of the doorbell before? Click this link to know more,
https://bit.ly/33Tio8f.
3. 36-Channel NVR
This NVR can offer 36 channels for the “camera richer”! You can easily expand and manage the existing security system with this NVR.
4. Trail camera: With GPS, 940nm invisible IR light, and camouflage skin
We love the fact that many users use our Go series cameras in the wild for camping and hunting, and like to paint the camera to disguise. This inspires us: why not make a more powerful trail camera?
So we upgrade the new GO PT Plus to the trail camera.
With the invisible IR light and camouflage skin, you can disguise your camera better. GPS in the camera will help you to better position your camera.
Feature Roadmap:
1. Al feature: Motion tagging
We think this is what you are waiting for! With this feature, you can better locate the person/vehicle/pet detection in the video.
We are still thinking about how to make AI more useful. Stay tuned! I will update in the future if it is practical.
2. Network setting:
--NVR H.265 RTSP stream integration
After integration of the H.265 video of the NVR and RTSP stream, you can enjoy better quality video in some third-party software.
--ONVIF upgrade
--Network security upgrade
3. Iframe optimization
Note: The plan or some specifications may be changed. The appearance of the products in the picture is not the final version.
After reading the roadmap above, which new product/new feature do you want most? What other features do you want? You can let me know in the comment!

@reolink-fiona Doorbell, definitely, this is the next thing I personally need in the very near future. Motion tagging is surely helpful to understand in uncertain situations WHAT actually triggered the alarm. But this feature should be ON/OFF-able I think, if everything is clear than I don't really need a frame or whatever around the person in the picture.
12MP Bullet with two-way and big FOV sounds also interesting, especially for long driveways or corridors...
You know what... just send me everything for betatesting -
@reolink-fiona Trail Cam development I hope for. Solar powered, motion triggered streaming through Nano Beams <1/4 mile into NVR via network. Kits offering recommended (Solar panel size, Nano Beams, Battery included). Possible separate IR triggered spotlight. For example 15ft cord on spot light allowing separate mounting location.
-
@reolink-fiona This falls under “other” and relates to overall management of whole system but in two parts.
1. I would like to see better NVR / Camera management. I understand separate Camera control is needed as they may not be used with NVR but when they are it would be nice to be more seamlessly controlled.
2. Also would like networking impact features. This might be my ignorance but as more cameras are added are they streaming constantly? I would hope they only send to NVR when triggered motion, scheduled recording, or viewing through a mobile/desktop app, or the NVR monitor. Which to me it seems the NVR app should have a way of turning off view live unless any app is requesting. -
@rbrading4_482117566664845 Hello there, thank you for the suggestion. The trail camera is solar-powered and we will offer a kit with a camera and a solar panel.
However, it records motion events only and won't record the NVR. -
@rbrading4_482117566664845 Hello there, thank you for sharing the suggestions with us. We are not very sure if we have got you right.
By saying "it would be nice to be more seamlessly controlled when the cameras are used with NVR", you mean that some of the camera features are not available when the cameras are used with NVR, right? If not, please share more with us.
In terms of the second suggestion, we are sorry that the phone app, desktop client, and NVR UI operate on their own and won't affect each other. Also, you are allowed to set up a recording schedule for your NVR to allow the cameras to record when they are triggered by motion events only. Hope this helps. -
Thank you for response.
Oh well, I was hoping for the Point to Point Beam taking the video from the PoE connection back to home network (Beam) then to NVR. I am not interested in 4G or memory card use. The mention of the Solar panel being spec'd out was to include powering a battery to handle the camera, PoE injector and, a point to point beam. -
@reolink-lorenz #1 In the mobile app for example when I go into Channel Selection I can select any of the cameras listed in the NVR heading. Then below NVR group/heading the cameras have their own heading where they can be selected, again. Why is it like that? If I have a NVR and I added a camera to it, for viewing and controlling it, why allow me to again select it under its own heading as though I am going to control it directly and not through the NVR?
As it is now after I close the menu (by using “done”) from selecting cameras (all of them but only under NVR heading only) I go to a single camera view. I then tap the icon letting me select the 9 pattern grid. I am shown 8 pictures and one blank. I do have an 8 channel NVR but only 5 cameras (two are duals) so I should be seeing7 images. One of the images, the extra one, is a repeat of one of the dual images.
And if I hit NVR drop arrow down, showing devices, I see all the cameras shown in a horizontal scroll under NVR - but also they show again in a vertical list below that.
#2 I understand and have the recordings working. It is obvious I am going to have network traffic coming back to the NVR when I am recording. My question relates to the traffic over the network when people are using the app, desktop client, or the NVR UI. Are the cameras constantly streaming which enables me to view them on either of the 3 mentioned network devices?
If I don’t have the mobile app open, nor a desktop client open, and I wasn’t going to be viewing the NVR UI I don’t need the camera streaming over my network, because as I understand it the camera interprets the motion triggers which would then need to send the stream out to be recorded.
I want to have the cameras send data over the network only when it is needed either for viewing live or recording and I would like tools to be able to analyze the traffic and how it impacts my local network.

@Reolink Custom HTTP(s) query, where you can enter an url, when certain motion is detected there will be a http get on this url, so extern systems can be triggered without adding too much overhead.

@tenback_266134903410848 Will an RTSP URL help in your case? If yes, you may click here to learn more, https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360006240073-Request-for-RTSP-URL
-
@reolink-lorenz Thanks for your response. No what i meant is that the camera does initiate the request to an external system if a person or a vehicle is detected, so it's easier to combine it with smart home systems like domoticz etc. It's like a FTP but then without (or with) image to an external http(s) url (http post).

Disguised Go PT Plus with 4G would be great for remote security However, could do with autotracking as would be solar charged and would therefore not have any pre-recording to show trigger incident

@tonylm100_386423266828454 Thank you for sharing your ideas with us, Penny. However, we may not add auto-tracking and pre-recording to the trail camera as it may drain the battery very fast.
Instead, we will add a pre-alarm feature to the camera. With this feature, you will be notified when the camera is triggered and starts to record (before a video is fully recorded). Hope this helps.

Will any of the AI features be able to back ported to previous cameras, like the RLC-511W? It would be great to see new features incorporated into existing devices that are only a couple of years old.

Hi there, we will upgrade the RLC-410W and it will support the AI function. But the hardware version is different from the previous one. The AI function is limited by the hardware. So the AI function can't be added to the previous one now. If there is any news, I will let you know.
-
Thank you for all your expectations and requests. I will record down all your requests and forward them to the product team to seek possibilities.

@bufr9302_473220546592974
Now there is no setting in the RLC-811A. I will record your demand and forward it to the product team.
-
Is optical zoom planned for the 12MP cameras? What I would like is a 12MP version of the 811a bullet, and in a turret version.
-
IR triggered POE camera please!
-
I can tell you that the ability to perform optical zoom is typically determined by the design of the camera lens and sensor, rather than the resolution of the sensor.
