Hi Folks, I have an issue with a new system RLN 8 and 810a. Only the NVR shows in devices, I can view live, playback etc. Do a LAN search no cameras, just NVR. The cameras show under the NVR, but there is no gear setting icon, same in client android app and web browser. Suggestions?

@gregvx80_481744243163367 Hi there, thank you for reaching out. As long as you have connected the camera directly to the NVR, the camera will be a part of the NVR instead of a standalone cam.
You will not be able to find the camera on its own when doing a LAN search.

But it doesn't mean that you cannot configure the camera settings. Click on the gear icon next to the NVR, select the camera channel, and you will be able to find the camera settings.

Also, you may upgrade your windows app to the latest version (find it here, https://community.reolink.com/topic/2850/reolinkers-week-day-5-reolink-client-version-8-7-beta-app-version-4-29-release) and you will find the gear icon on the main menu.

If you prefer to use the camera as a standalone camera while keeping the camera recording to the NVR, add a PoE switch between the camera and the NVR. Hope this helps.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply. I do have the latest client (Mac) version. So in the screenshot you sent you have a gear icon beside the "social 811A". I do not have that on my install. (See screenshot.) In many of the help articles it talks about updating from the client, which currently I can't do, I must take a monitor into the utility room to access the NVR. This install is at our second home which we are sometimes away from for extended periods, so being able to upgrade the cameras remotely is a must. Any suggestions?

Hi there, now we can't upgrade the camera under the NVR on the Client now. If you want to upgrade the camera in the Client, you can try to add the camera under the PoE switch which is under the same router of the NVR. Then you can add the camera to the Client as a standalone camera as well as add it under the NVR. In this situation, you can upgrade the firmware for the standalone camera on the Client.

@reolink-fiona Hi, OK will try and do that. I have a new issue since the update. It is only occurring in the client app for Mac, I have deleted and reinstalled client, powered down NVR, unplugged camera, any suggestions? TIA
