      Reolinkers’ Week Day 5: Reolink Client Version 8.7 Beta & APP Version 4.29 Release
      Hi all! Today is day 5 of the Reolinkers’ Week. We have felt your excitement and heard lots of feedback from you in this week. Today we have the 8.7 Client Beta and APP 4.29 release!

      What’s new about Client 8.7.0 and APP 4.29?
      Client 8.7.0:
      1. Added the device list reorder function; (It's finally available!)
      You can adjust the camera order by clicking on the camera and dragging it to a preferable position.

      2. Added the “scrollview” button on the live view page and the scrollview interval in the local setting
      This feature is the “tour” feature of the previous Client. You can watch video of each camera at a regular interval.

      3. Added the function to customize the time, timezone and DST;

      4. Added an individual configuration entry button to the NVR/DUO device list;

      5. Added a refresh button to privacy mask, motion detection zone and object size settings;

      6. Added strong and weak indicators next to the password input box;
      7. Added new features, including AI detection type for spotlight, push interval, diagnostic Logs and “Http and Https” switch, for cameras with the latest AI firmware.
      You can click here to know more details about the new feature of the new AI firmware in the post yesterday. https://bit.ly/3GPAtmo

      Improvements:
      - Reduced loading time for video playback;
      - Accelerated the loading speed of the playback files;
      - Users are allowed to resize client window with the sizer on the upper edge.
      - Users can see the UID and IP information even when the device is disconnected.
      - Moved the entry for adding device from the upper right corner of the client to the top of the device list
      - Optimize UI design
      - Fixed some known bugs.

      On schedule:
      Time-lapse function on Client!!!

      Android & IOS v.4.29 APP
      What’s New:
      1. Added Push interval function!!!
      Enable the push notification first to see the interval setting. With this interval setting, users can receive the notifications at an interval instead of the duplicated push notifications.

      2. Added IOS critical alert (Push notification->critical alert)
      You need to turn on the critical alerts both in the APP setting and the phone setting. With the critical alerts enabled, you will receive notifications on lock screen with sound alerts even if your phone is muted or under Do Not Disturb mode.

      3. Redesigned the camera layout of the NVR.
      --Adjusted the NVR default horizontal layout to the vertical single-column layout; --The layout of NVR list can be switched from vertical single-column to multi-column;
      --Added the direct entry of the setting module of a certain channel of the NVR;

      4. Added the “channel list” function to the NVR
      You can change the device order by pressing the three-dash icon.
      By pressing the eye icon, you can also hide the device which you don’t want to see on the display page. With this function, you can ignore the empty channel of the NVR now.

      5. Optimized Android UI
      6. Optimized FTP feature

      Note:
      Only the cameras with the new AI firmware v3.1.0.764 or v3.1.0.804 (for the RLC-823A and RLC-523WA) support some new features like the FTP optimization and push interval. You can upgrade the camera to the latest firmware. For more information, please refer to the post about the new AI firmware.
      You can download the latest firmware here, https://bit.ly/3qLsPni.

        Can't wait for the Android version!

        Maybe something to consider: everytime i change the screen in the app, i have to put it manually to 5 mp.
        It woud be nice if it stay at the same and not have to change it all the time.

        Thank you!

            Thanks for the update, some useful features.

            What would be really useful is if the PZT function 'zoom' and 'focus' had a bar on it, so you know how far you are e.g. zoomed in or out. Initially, I sometimes wonder when using this if I have reached maximum or not

            Something like this....

                Great updates! I'm excited for some of the new features. I would also love to see the following features added to the app/client:

                1. Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode on iOS? I've read on your forums that this was a limitation with iOS. Is this something that will be eventually overcome? I've started to notice some iOS apps implementing this feature (e.g.: Netflix).
                2. Picture and/or video previews from push notifications. A picture of three-to-five second video preview of the motion/person/vehicle alert would help identify if further action is actually required, v.s. a false positive.
                3. Creation of multiple detection "zones" per camera.
                4. Quick forward and backward when viewing video playback: A button on the GUI to quickly skip backward or forward 10, 15 or 30 seconds when using the playback feature (whether using when viewing full recordings, motion, person, or vehicle alerts)

                  When you mention detection zones, do you mean - Alarm settings>detection zones in the menu? If you go into that menu, you can draw as you want and it will show as grey (although they are technically - non detection zones)

                  like this below (sorry, had to blur my 'view' out, but it shows the grey I have drawn 'non detections' for

                    Something similar to how the nest cameras implement it by allowing multiple alert zones per camera. This feature enables you to receive alert from the specific zone you may be most interested in. For example: If I have one camera which covers a public road, a private building with door, and a private trash can; I would like an push alert that can separate the detected activity and say "motion detected by the trash can", or a different alert if there was motion detected by the "public road", or motion detected by the "office building door". You can then also filter by these motion alerts when using the playback feature.

                      @schonuf

                      Ah gotcha... Never thought of that, but sounds like a useful function, So in a sense, individually controlled detection zones 👍

                        @catalano_alessandro_452102872854751 Hi Catalano, are you referring to the phone app or desktop client?

                        For the phone app, the one for iOS is now available on the app store while the official Android version will be available three weeks later.

                        We are running beta testing for the Android app now. If you want to try it out, click this link to download, https://drive.google.com/file/d/12qNS9uoLWA2UBGc2DtynAi24o-8Bb0eT/view?usp=sharing

                        For the desktop client, you will need to click the links to download the latest version on your own.

                        Windows: https://home-cdn.reolink.us/files/client/electron-release/Reolink%20Setup%208.7.0.exe
                        Mac: https://home-cdn.reolink.us/files/client/electron-release/Reolink-8.7.0.dmg

                        Let us know if you have any questions.

                          @faasio82_480971996033257 The android version will be available within 3 weeks. But we are running beta testing for ver 4.29 now. If you are interested, click here to download, https://drive.google.com/file/d/12qNS9uoLWA2UBGc2DtynAi24o-8Bb0eT/view?usp=sharing. Let us know how it works and any feedback is welcome.

                          In terms of the live view video quality of the desktop client, it was designed to stay the same before. However, it may take longer for the camera to load. To reduce loading time, we have changed the camera live view to stream in Standard mode by default.

                          It is not very effective to change the video quality from time to time at the moment but we are seeking better solutions. 🤔

                            @tazzy_423116622815407 Thank you for the suggestion, Tazzy. I will forward it to our team and see if it is possible to add this to the client app in a future update.

                                @Reolink-Lorenz : Thank you for the explanation.

                                I have the bèta version on my phone now.
                                The live view stays at High now when i leave the app, but you are right, the loading time is longer.

                                  Congratulations for all the new releases.

                                  I recently bought 3 new RLC-810A cameras, and I was testing the firmware beta version of 810A cameras, and there are many new improvements.
                                  I was getting a lot of alerts with rain, spider-webs and fumes from water heater, and the new firmware with "Alarm Delay" feature solves these issues. Congrats!

                                  Now, a suggestion for another improvement - the implementation of geometric shapes with edit points in "Motion Detection Zone", and also edit points in "Privacy Mask".

                                    @schonuf 200% supporting point 2! We need rich notifications, many of Reolink's competitors already support this. Also super convenient when you have a smartwatch to see within seconds if the alert is relevant or not.

                                    Please please please implement this! It would make the software nearly perfect!
