Duo PoE/Wifi New Firmware: Support Fixed Frame Rate, Iframe Setting & Pet Detection
-
Hi all,
We have released the Duo new firmware on our download center. With this new firmware, you can use pet detection, fixed frame rate, and Iframe settings to have better video images and third-party software experience.
Download the firmware via https://bit.ly/3MqvL25.
(Please also update your APP/Client to the latest version.)
Changelog:
1. Support Pet detection
Now two lenses can detect the pet. Record your pet with the Duo now!
2. Added pet option under spotlight
You can choose person/vehicle/pet detection under spotlight, which means that the spotlight will be on when the camera detects the person/vehicle/pet.
3. Added the Iframe multiplier selection(GOP multiplier selection)
The setting is to adapt to the settings of third-party software like Blue Iris. We suggest using the default setting. If you think your picture quality is not good enough, you can adjust the interframe space settings.
What is GOP? A GOP is a group of consecutive pictures. A GOP(Group of pictures) is the distance between two iframes, measured in the number of frames, or the amount of time between iframes. For example, if an iframe is inserted every 1 second into a video at 30 frames, the GOP length is 30 frames, or 1 second.
How to set interframe space? So in our Client, interframe space is to set the number of frames between two iframes. You can choose the multiple of the frames for both clear and fluent mode. 1X means one multiple of the frames rate you set. 2X means two multiples of the frames. For example, if you set 25 FPS and 2X, the distance between two iframes will be 50 frames.
4. Added the Fixed Frame Rate setting
If you meet the problem of the smearing image or missed AI alarms, you can choose to enable the fixed rate.
-If you choose on(fluency first), the frames will be fixed and not be automatically adjusted for night vision.
-If you choose off(clarity first), the frames will be automatically adjusted for night vision to guarantee the image quality in dark.
5. Added Alarm Delay in alarm settings
Quite a lot of false alarms happen at night or on snowy or rainy days. If snowflakes and raindrops enter the box of the stationary object, resulting in sudden changes and false alarms. To reduce this circumstance, we add the Alarm Delay feature.
How it works
AI may take 20 frames in 1 second to analyze and see how many frames are with the motion. Only when AI detects motions in most of the frames, this motion is considered a true alarm.
Recommended settings(You can adjust according to your situation.)
For person detection, 1 second;
For vehicle detection, 1-3 seconds.
6. Optimize the motions/AI detection to reduce false alerts.
7. Optimize the night vision image.
8. Update the Web Client version
9. Fixed other known bugs. -
Update performed without any issue until now detected
Thank you and keep the great support and developer of a new features we appreciate
Best regards -
I use(D) Blue Iris with my Duo Cameras, but after this update, Blue Iris stopped seeing the camera. Thankfully I only updated one of my 7 cameras or I would have been in a world of hurt. I did have it do an Find/Inspect and it did find a way to talk to the camera... but now the video from the camera is literally 2-3 minutes delayed from live action. I never had that problem before. Any help on the new settings this firmware update requires, is appreciated. Or a link to the old firmware so I can go backwards to get it to work again.
