RLC-810A cameras - IPC_523128M8MP
Firmware: v3.1.0.764_22022803
Mac app: v8.8.2
Maddening. I DO NOT WANT pet alarms and yet I cannot keep them off. Used both the Mac app and the direct browser to the camera interface to turn off the damn feature in Camera > Alarm Settings. Quit the app or disconnect. Reconnect. Verify its really off. Reboot the camera. Check again that its off.
And then 3-6 hours later I'll get a damn pet notification alarm again. Connect again and the feature has re-enabled all by itself.
UGH! 4 different cameras. Same experience on all of them. Maddening.Reply QuoteShare0- Share this Post

Thats a new one.
Have you tried the newer firmware for the camera? v3.1.0.956_22041503
That may fix the issue. Pet detection should be able to be switched off. -
@big_ted
Ugh. How come the "update check" on the maintenance tab doesn't find that firmware??? Why even have the update check button if it never works. -

New firmware does not solve the problem. Still happened within an hour of updating on 3 of my RLC-810A cameras. -
@user_610927526518900_610927526518900 Can you switch off pet detection in recording schedule and push notification? I have Argus 3 Pro and that's what I did.

There is no Pet option listed in the Record schedule or Push schedule or Email schedule on the 810A.
Only Any Motion, Person, Vehicle.
The only Pet related setting is the big switch in the Camera > Alarm Settings which DOES NOT STAY OFF.
My neighborhood is full of dog walkers and I have the schedules already ignoring them through the day.
But I still get Pet notifications all damn day long. -
@user_610927526518900_610927526518900 I don't have this model and cannot provide additional support. Did you email Reolink support?

@user_610927526518900_610927526518900 Do you also connect your camera to the APP? In the latest APP v4.33, pet detection is enabled by default.
You need to do the settings in the APP to disable the pet detection. You can uncheck the "pet" in the push and record schedule and you can also set the pet sensitivity to zero. -

Finally figured this out.
Attached is a screenshot of the toggle switch in Camera > Alarm Settings which certainly appears to be the way to turn off all pet alarms. But it doesn’t work. That’s the one that keeps re-enabling by itself.
And if you have that toggled off and then look at Email or Push notification schedules, there is no Pet option shown - BUT THEY ARE STILL ACTIVE. So there’s no way to turn off Pet notifications unless you keep the overall higher pet setting enabled. The whole thing makes no sense. You don't even realize there are Pet schedules because you toggled the whole thing off in a different section.
I have finally figured out that Pet is listed in the notification schedules and is always active regardless of the other toggle and disabled them.
Why is there is giant toggle switch for Pet Detection in the Camera > Alarm Settings when it doesn’t do anything?
Just like the “Check Update” buttons I guess. -

Have you tried unchecking Pet in the surveillance > record?
or is the tag that keeps re-enabling itself? -
Animal detection still turns on by itself. Problem not fixed.
-
Yep, same with me.
The "Pet Detection
" settings turns itself back on. What a damn stupid feature if you're not going to abide by user's request.
And also, having pet detection on, affects a lot of other settings which I don't want to use!
Why didn't Reolink test this shit before releasing it? Updating firmware is a major hassle. Have they even fixed this issue?
