@joseph_1979 again thats not the only way to get a call screen to appear. the screen can be a normal app opening automatically when doorbell is pressed. it can a popup like screen that could also open up automatically when its pressed. many other ways to implement a call screen without even having VOIP/SIP like feature
-
@big_ted have you noticed anything new or improved?
-
@user_711725607157890_711725607157890 You need the smartphone to ring as otherwise you will be missing the rich message notification (with the possibility you described).
-
@joseph_1979 again you dont need Voip/sip for it to "ring" you know nothing so please stop making yourself look like fool. the botton press can trigger app to open a call like screen to pop up or open up that gives you option to answer or decline and can all be done without the need of Sip servers.
-
@user_711725607157890_711725607157890 See how Wyze and Arlo implemented this.......through VOIP call.
-
@joseph_1979 ok and?? as I said it doesn't have to be Sip/voip. and lets face it Reolink doesn't even know what they are doing. you think they know how to even implement Sip/Voip? i mean they cant even program their applications properly. they themselves have basically admitted they have no clue what they are doing when they commented on a post saying they need to find a way how to implement a call screen.

@user_711725607157890_711725607157890
nothing specific, maybe a little bit better accuracy with alert tagging and motion detection, but still testing. -
@big_ted
So official response from support so far is that this update is only a beta, which doesnt make sense since this was published via the pc client and there is no specifc change list so far
other then bug fixes and improved performance. So currently unsure whats happening but still working with support.
Has anyone else had the update come through? -
@big_ted tell them since they pushed the update you EXPECT a detailed change log.
did it auto update? when checking if update was available does it ask to install after downloading or does it ask after download is completed if you wish to update firmware now? -
@user_711725607157890_711725607157890 I cited two camera suppliers which implemented this using VOIP calling. Give me a camera supplier which has implemented the method you have described? There are reasons why they use VOIP. In this world a lot of information is available on the Internet and one can learn SIP (SIP-T) as any other protocol used in Telco networks like ISUP, TCAP, SCCP, SCTP, BICC, CAMEL, INAP, Q931, QSIG, h.248, h.323, Diameter, DTAP, BSSAP, RANAP, MAP, and many more. If you have the motivation to learn, you have all the information to learn by yourself. I started to work on SIP since the first release of SER and have implemented IMS networks including Volte.

@big_ted Ted, this is a beta firmware which has been pushed on a number of members who have provided their UID to test out. This improves the echo cancellation for two way audio. Compiled on 7th August.

@joseph_1979
funny that support wont tell me that. I even asked a few days earlier if there as a Beta to test and they said no.
but that would explain why the update was pushed through the client.
They have said an official release is due soon, hopefully... -
@big_ted They need to synch and communicate better. We can offer lecturing ......
