            have you tried the usual suspects? turn off hardware decoding? updated directX ? GPU drivers updated?
            I havent had any issues with any of these versions but usually there is a reason so hopefully one of these will help.

              A long shot also, download the K-lite codec pack. I have had success in the past with video issues by updating the codecs, even though they are included in the client.

                @big_ted Thanks but why should going from 8.15.7 to 8.17.6 mean I have to fiddle with my system? Unless there is a GPU setting within Reolink client that I have not found, it doesn't help whether I assign my laptop GPU to reolink.exe or not.

                I am running DirectX 11 which obviously has worked fine with older v8 versions.

                  For me was the same after the update. Only black screens on PC. When I use VPN connection to my home-network (NAS) and watch in the browser, all views are ok.
                  So I downgrate back to 8.15.7 and all works fine. It's not the first time, that an update created some big issues.

                          With v8.17.6 playback is very jerky.. Went back to v8.16.8, no issues..
