I have a Doorbell Battery with 2 Reolink Chime and wanted to integrate them into my Smart Home (Home Assistant). That didn't work and was told by Reolink support that I need the Smart Hub. No sooner said than done, bought.
I can integrate the camera into the Smart Hub, but then I can no longer add the Reolink Chime. Adding the Chime to the camera first and then integrating it into the hub makes the Chime disconnect. Therefore, I can either integrate the Doorbell Battery with Hub into the Smart Home or I can choose to be notified when the doorbell rings.
I want the Reolink Chime to work with the Doorbell Battery in the Smart Hub so that I can integrate everything into my Home Assistant.Reply QuoteShare1- Share this Post

I am having the same issue

I'm also dealing with the same issue.
Furthermore my battery doorbell is offline all the time in Google Home since I started using the Smart Hub. -
Looks to be an unsupported configuration at the moment...

I can tell you that the wired WiFi doorbell does with with both (that's what I have). I can only assume that's it's a battery capacity issue... the more lines of code in the firmware means more power for processing. Having to send two alert signals to two different devices also means more power. -
Yep I'm getting the same problem. I've raised a support ticket as there is nothing documented to say that Chime & home hub are incompatible. But it is documented and advertised that you can have up to 5 chimes.
-
This is the response I got from Reolink support. I've asked for an approximate ETA on the firmware update.
This is Iris from the Reolink Senior Support Team! Thanks for reaching out.
After the Doorbell camera is added to the Home Hub series, it does not have the Reolink Chime option so they cannot be paired for now.
Please don't worry, we're working on new firmware for the Home Hub to support the Reolink Chime and it'll be available soon. Before that, here are two workarounds:
1. Delete the Doorbell camera from the Home Hub to use it as a separate device so that you can pair the Reolink Chime to it.
2. Or you can keep the Doorbell connected to the Home Hub, and use the Home Hub Ring function. After you press the Doorbell, the Hub will emit a loud tune like a chime.Reply QuoteShare2- Share this Post

Response from Reolink:
Sorry for the trouble caused.
The new firmware for the Home Hub will be released next month. Please make sure to turn on the auto-update for your Home Hub so that it can be upgraded automatically when the new firmware is ready. Refer to How to Enable Auto Upgrade via Reolink App -
@user_901203979997352_901203979997352 Ok just an update. I got the firmware update a few days ago & have only just got the chime working. But now the home hub has stopped chiming!!! I'm back waiting for a support response on that. Will keep this forum updated.

Ok finally got it working. For some reason my homehub chime schedule was disabled.- First get the firmware update. The download link is in this forum (in my case they pushed it out to me so when I manually looked for updated firmware I got it).
- Setup your "Home hub chime" in Doorbell - settings - chime - home hub ring - switch on - choose settings (you've probably already done this step)
- Setup your "Chime" in Reolink home hub - + - add device - select reolink chime - choose settings
- Then link the doorbell to the chime in reolink home hub - smart linking - + - add trigger condition (choose doorbell) - add new action (choose chime) - set ringtone - confirm - create (top right)

@user_901203979997352_901203979997352 Yes, this is the correct procedure. Thanks for sharing with members.

@joseph_1979 On a related note, how can I set the home hub to chime ONLY when the doorbell is pressed & not when when motion is detected. in "Home Hub Ring" settings there is a 'visitor ringtone' & 'alarm ringtone'. I want to deactivate the 2nd (alarm ringtone) so the hub only rings when the doorbell is run, not motion.

@user_901203979997352_901203979997352 What version is the latest firmware that you have? In the download centre the latest version for the Home Hub is v3.3.0.352_24092629 (updated 8th Oct 2024), which is what my hub is currently on. No update shows up through the app either.

Hi @joseph_1979,
Any idea why the update mentioned above is not released for all users? Should we still expect this update to be released so we can add the chime to the doorbell and still have the home hub connection?
I don't see any updated firmware version for the home hub. Last one is from Sept, 2024 (based on the build no.).
Thank you. -
@user_924771673063632_924771673063632 open a support ticket and reference the specific firmware you are looking for and they will supply a download link. Think of this as patched firmware and not a global release. This is not uncommon in the software industry.

Thank you for updating the community @user_901203979997352_901203979997352 ! Too bad Reolink doesn't do it themselves here, we have to inform ourselves.
The combination of Smart Hub and Chimes was my reason for buying and I was disappointed that it doesn't work.
I'm looking forward to the update and wish you a happy new year in the meantime! -
Hello everyone. I have not yet received an update. What's the situation with you? Best regards

@user_871533405733092_871533405733092 you can manually check the Reolink downloads for firmware here https://reolink.com/us/download-center/ to make sure that you have the current version. If you do and are still experiencing issues, I would continue with your Reolink Support trouble ticket. There is no need to open a new one, simply respond back to the one you made previously.

@crewy_788072062582970 I don't blame you, I am 53 and this vessel isn't what it used to be. There isn't much reason to hard reset cameras once they are deployed and working properly. If you find yourself having to do so, open a new thread and let's see if we can help you figure out what's going on.

@chopstix It doesn't matter now I have an installer putting in a new CCTV Install

Is there any news? I have seen that several users on Reddit have the same problem, but the Home Hub firmware is still as of October 2024.

I'm not getting any response from support at the moment, even though I've created a ticket, very sad.
