      Rectangular privacy mask shape is not sufficent. Best option would be a polygon with 4 corners that you could freely adjust. I have tried to work around this by drawing smaller rectangular boxes close to each other to form a more complicated form, but there is a limitation of 4! masks you can apply, so this method does not help either.

          OMG. Thanks for commenting on this "feature". All these years, my RLC cameras have supported an unlimited number of non-detection zones. (literally, no limit) The major problem was drawing them. This new "always rectangular" feature, while more convenient in a sense, is totally different. (I, also, find a limit of 4 zones ridiculous.)

          The RLC-1224A cameras I installed in December allow an unlimited number of non-detection zones, but the RLC-821WA that I installed today allows only 4 of those rectangles.

          Geez.

              @crimp-on_62210811129 Indeed. I have asked for more non-detection zones based on irregular shape each of which should have distinct detection objects, schedules, email and push notifications. This is ALL software driven by a a state machine. This is a piece of cake. How many complex applications I did.

              If we are talking about the Privacy Mask and not the Non-Detection Zones, two completely different features, I would request the Privacy Mask feature is changed to allow it to work similar to the Non-Detection Zone Painting option rather than having to use a limited number boxes to try to draw your privacy mask. A grid covering the screen where you could paint by square would work far better than the current option which is extremely limiting.

                I have the same problem, and I guess there are hundreds of users who would like a more advanced masking system.

                Three suggestions for the development team:

                • Greatly increase the number of usable rectangles, allowing for more precise coverage of the areas that need to be blocked without covering parts that you still want to monitor;
                • Simply allow the black rectangles to be rotated;
                • Provide the ability to create custom polygon shapes.

                I hope the development team can seriously consider these suggestions, as I believe they would be greatly appreciated by the entire community.

                    @simone_940990992965785 We have already forwarded similar requirements. Just provide a free hand shape and that shall cover everything.

                      @joseph_1979

                      Thank you for answering,

                      I just updated this morning both my Duo 3V PoE and Video Doorbell PoE firmware and the Reolink desktop app as well, but I didn't found such feature.
                      Should we expect a new "free hand mask" feature in the next future then? Any estimated release date?

                      Thank you

                        @simone_940990992965785 It doesn't exist. It's a suggestion I forwarded to Reolink support. I am a customer like you.

                          I didn't realize you were a customer! I thought you were from the Reolink team because i saw the global moderator label.
                          This privacy mask thing is driving me crazy! The camera and everything are great, but I just can't understand this stupid limitation.
                          I sent an email to the support team this morning with the same request. Let's see what happens...

                            @simone_940990992965785 Not an issue at all. You can only draw a black rectangle on the screen, and it's not supported to draw other shapes randomly except for the rectangle. Quite limited. No improvements since it has been introduced.

                            Try to use the non detection zone under Detection Alarm.
