      Hi all,

APP v4.36.1 is updated. This version is to optimize the APP account safety and strengthen privacy. You could download the new APP via the Google play store/Apple APP Store.

Note: The APP adopts a grayscale release strategy so that the update time will differ in different regions. Simply meaning that it takes some time to arrive in your app store.

      What’s new:

      1. Added the “log out of device” button on the camera setting page.

      2. Link devices to the personal account to avoid losing the devices.
The camera account(UID and password) is still the only way to access your camera. The personal account(Reolink account) can help you to remember your cameras.

      Some notes:
① The logged-in device will link to your personal account. Then you can just log in to your personal account and the device will exist. This can help to remember and manage your personal devices.
② You still need to input the camera password.
③ You can also log out of all the devices when logging out of your personal account. Remember to keep your device password.
④ If you don’t want the cameras linked to your personal account, you can still access your camera without logging in to your personal account.

      3. Fixed the issue of the zoom bug for the IOS APP. It will zoom into the zone that you pinch.

Let me know if you have any questions.

@reolink-fiona Can you please add a link so we will download and test out? As regards security I wish to see more features like the ones I proposed. Thanks for sharing with us.

@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 Just to let you know that the version 4.36.1.2 is readily available in the download center. Have upgraded the client on two of my smartphones and when free I will do some testing.

@reolink-fiona We have seen features introduced related to new products but I think features related to the security of the camera per se have been left a bit behind. For instance I wish to see some of the following suggestions being implemented on your products. These will definitely give more peace of mind to your customers.

              1.     Introduce a log of the source IP logging on to the camera. Have the last 20 IPs together with timestamp logged and exposed them to the Administrator account. Here one can check if someone else tried to log the camera. This should be read-only and cannot be erased even if the camera is rebooted or restored.
              2.     Send a push notification or email when user fails to log to the camera. You have introduced the account locked feature but this is not enough as after timeout the account will be unlocked and you have no idea that someone tried to log on.
              3.     Add the possibility to send a push notification when a user logs the camera within a configured time period.
              4.     Add a privacy shutter which inhibits any recording. This has to be password protected by the admin.
              5.     Introduce a heartbeat mechanism between the camera and the P2P servers and in the event of failing to receive say 10 consecutive requests then send an email/push notification to the user that communication with the camera has been lost. Of course this will definitely increase the load on the servers of the service providers providing the p2p service.
              6.     Encrypting the mp4 files in the SD/NVR (using AES 128/256 bits) and files can only be viewed from the Android/Ios and Windows/Mac applications using the combination of UID and password of the camera. Then if the customer wants to pass this video to police then it can be exported with no protection.

Please give us the opportunity to test the v.4.36.1 application by downloading it from the cloud ☁ and write reviews.
By publishing version 4.36.0.4 in GPlay and AppStore, you have created a lot of negative feedback from users who do not want to participate in this BETA test of an unstable release.

Do you have a bug regarding push notications on this android version ?

Until today it worked fine, today the alert category "miscellaneus" was deleted and push alerts stopped working. One category remains but notifications was delivered through the one that now has been deleted. I know because i initially set custom alert sounds on them.

Yesterday i upgraded NVR 8 to latest available version, all cameras RCL 811A to latest version, and today push alerts stopped working. I have tried to delete all data from android app, then reinstalling the app, rebooted nvr. Nothing seems to fix it. The remaining alert category does not deliver any push alerts. The deleted one did.

                        Samsung Galaxy S22

                        NVR :

                        Android app :

Here is the deleted category that delivered notifications, "miscellaneous". After this image was taken the bottom one got deleted by your app and effectively killed notifications.
