      Hey,

your cameras using PIR or video to detect motion but specially at night this mostly not very long distance.
So there should be a new device like a PIR motion detector with battery to put somewhere and when this detector notice some motion the connected or in app selected cameras should start recording, if it’s a movable camera it should also rotate to a defined position.

So you could have multiple sensors to add to the camera system and every sensor could activate one or more cameras and rotate movable cameras to desired location. With this feature Reolink will become a full surveillance solution.

@albummi Currently some of their cameras (DUO 2, Trackmix, etc) have the IFTTT feature to switch on the floodlight and its siren. But the inverse doesn't apply. To achieve this they need to add IFTTT in their floodlight which I think it is not that difficult. I do observed that the sensitivity of the cameras relying on pixel changes per frame aren't that sensitive during the night. And I did ask Reolink to have sensitivity based on a schedule (e.g. 40% during daylight and 50% during the night). Here we give them a lot of brilliant ideas but it takes time to implement. Of course they have their strategy and their priorities.

What a cool idea. If Reolink supported using IFTTT to make cameras start recording, then all sorts of switches could make this happen. Have not seen an IFTTT motion detector, but without the integration there's not much point in looking.

            Good suggestion Albummi,

There has been a request for similar before but not much reply to it.

This would especially useful to compliment systems much like with laser trip alarms for drive ways and gate sensors. Which would activate the camera when a vehicle or person passes the sensor and trips the alarm / camera. especially useful for PTZ cameras that could immediately and automatically be directed to the position and record.
