@user_746623229407444_746623229407444 So far nothing. We are all waiting to test out the calling feature.

@joseph_1979 any news already end of February?
-
@artech Didn't hear anything. I asked support and was told to check Facebook when it will be released. I am very curious to see how it has been implemented. I asked for it before it will be launched but was denied. Specific testers were chosen. Let's see.
-
Thanks , why reolink don't have one place for updates , it's so crazy one time they post updates in Facebook, one time here, one time Reddit ....:((
-
@joseph_1979 I bet they used beta testers who don't know what they are doing or looking for when beta testing. reolink had potential but has lost their creditably in my books.
-
@artech I have no idea. It is their strategy. Mine would be wholly different. I simply suggest and it's up to them what and how to implement.

@user_711725607157890_711725607157890 In the customer's mind there are a lot of possibilities, in the expert mind there are a few
-
@joseph_1979 Firmware is here but doesn't work :(((
-
@artech Yes. I have subscribed to be informed when a new fw shall be available ..............but no email from the download center. You need latest Android client.
-
@joseph_1979 I have new firmware and latest client and calls still not working at all
-
@artech There seem to be issues and have removed it from the download. They should embark on more robust testing.
Still looking forward to see how they have implemented it. Most probably a push notification and once you click on it, it opens the client on the doorbell live view.

@user_796905230729356_796905230729356 Did you try the calling feature? I need to go to my other property to load it and test it.
-
Looks like the doorbell being removed from the download centre is this a good or a bad thing lol

@user_746623229407444_746623229407444 Something went wrong. I cannot understand why they don't use the community to assist them in testing. There are brilliant people here who can assist without requesting anything.

@issom Try to restore previous fw. Seems to be buggy.
-
I downloaded the latest firmware from the website:
Reolink_video_doorbell_wifi_v30032152401262240_IPC_DB.zip
Firmware installed fine. no issues. seems normal features are still working.
I can change the following settings in the App:
Unfortunately, if I leave the setting screen, and come back the setting has been disabled again.
With some further testing I could get the long-awaited call style notification to work, and it looks like this:
Now for the bad news. It only works if I am IN the setting screen... and only once. If I toggle the setting OFF and back ON again I can get the notification again.
If I leave the setting screen or close the app, it does not work.
In summary. Progress, but It's not working yet.. At least there is finally some proof of life with this.Reply QuoteShare1- Share this Post

@tiaan_781250483077293 This is rather based on push notification and so you need to click on the received notification which will start the application or it will pop up if you are in the application as your case. This is not practical at all.
Implementation should be based on registration of both doorbell and client. One can use either XMPP + SRTP (whatsapp) or SIPS + SRTP(VOIP). Competitors (arlo, wyze, eufy, etc) implemented the voip method. -
Agree with you 100% , sip good Idea , btw NVR can be sip server too .
I have Arlo doorbell beside reolink , using Arlo for calls , great integration with google and Alexa , If reolink will resolve problem of calls, I will remove Arlo from my home !!!

Installed the new firmware (poe) can't see any of the new features on the app or client are the new features for WiFi only ?
