@maryc_415223955476634 Hi there, the video doorbell is expected to be available in May. Stay tuned!

@reolink-lorenz
Can you please list the current specifications of the doorbell camera you are going to produce.
Nb. I understand that these specifications are likely to change.
Please make it POE and link into the hard drive and App!
-
I didn't see it mentioned, but HDR is a must too.

Really looking forward to this product since you guys fixed the app glitch where it couldn't connect 80% of the time. Is there estimated date for release?

@nymny_417371890249939 For the doorbell, this will be estimated to be available in June. Do you still have a connection issue with your APP? What's your APP version?
-
@reolink-fiona
The connection failed bug is fixed in the new app for android (4.29.0.6).
But if you guys can make the videos playback could be smoother if possible especially under higher quality.
I hope you can rival Ring door bell without the subscription fee and can angle at 30,40,or 50 degrees like the following picture,
-
So this product will be available in May? Here is my wishlist:
- Night vision (its a must)+AI motion detection
- 2K camera
- Weatherproof (-20 to +50 celcius)
- Wider 180 degree angle
- Simple design
- Tampering alarm
- Motion range up to 5 meters
- Battery option (about 6 month operating time) or power supply included.
I think many would be happy and pay extra if they got all these features in one product.Reply QuoteShare0- Share this Post

@john-doe_506342755373244 why 2K and not 4K?

Can't wait for the doorbell. Is there a way to be notified the moment you have a launch date?

@aangulocarlos_506773502083222 We plan to launch a pre-order event for the video doorbell in May. If there are any updates, we will definitely post the news in the community. Stay tuned!

@reolink-lorenz
I have a suggestion regarding tamper protection for the POE version: if the NVR detects that the doorbell has been tampered with or stolen (i.e., removed from the wall without first removing it from the NVR's channels), the NVR will software lock down the ethernet port being used by the tampered doorbell.
This is so that no one can gain access to the NVR or the rest of the network by ripping out the doorbell and plugging into the exposed ethernet wire.
This would be great for all POE cameras, but the doorbell is most exposed due to it's location. The feature could also be 'paused' while installing and the user could turn it on in the NVR after the installation is set. -
@aaron Thank you for all your detailed suggestions! We will forward your demand to the product team.

@reolink-lorenz Hi Lorenz! Just curious if Reolink is offering a program for early adopters to beta test the new doorbell prior to official release? If so, I’m so excited and would love the opportunity to be a part of that program. Thank you - Joe

In our schedule, there will be a trial program for the doorbell. But it may be changed according to the actual arrangement in the future. Stay tuned with us! -
@reolink-fiona I just upgraded 2 RLC-520's to a RLN8-410. Wanted to add a doorbell and what timing!! Looking forward to adding it to the system!
-
@reolink-fiona I know it might be hard to comment but do you have an estimated price bracket this will be released on and will there be a subscription cost like Ring?
Many Thanks

I'm liking what I'm seeing so far but either I missed it or it hasn't been mentioned but will the Doorbell support a chime or have any function where it will make a traditional doorbell noise when used?

@nathan_383793037746395 Hi Nathan, we will sell indoor chimes together with the doorbell.
-
that would be amazing I am contemplating changing to a camera with nvr from Reolink to replace all of my current ones.. and I need a video doorbell. I had the Doorbird and now using the google one...
one thing the Doorbird has is a button in the app to open the door and then s way to connect that to the door actuator for an electric loch AND and connection to the API of a smart lock...
the google one makes short movies witch is even better then a still image ...
would be amazing to have an integrated one with the camera system in order to get the time stamp of the whole system so you can see what was happening around your property around the time of the doorbell push
what would be the time frame that such a doorbell would go to market...
kind regards

REALLY need PoE on the doorbell. Hopefully there will be another option/version vs. just wifi, or better, just make it with both PoE and wifi.
ThanksReply QuoteShare0- Share this Post

Small and maybe stupid question. A nice to have is a connection to one or more tablet, so that once in house it is possible to answer the door bell / see who is and open the door, the gate or possibly the dropbox for deliveries.
As well alert to the phone, once door bell is pressed and no one is in house. Same interface that make possible to interact and see who is and open the drop box for delivery, if available. -
Hi, I am already fully in the reolink products, cameras, NVR
I have looked at a lot of doorbells, and can't wait for this one.
A lot of my requirements are already fulfilled.
But these one would also be nice:
- very fast response to notifications. When you get a notification you want to talk to the person at the door right away, or he is already gone.
- integration with Homeassistent. The best smartphone system there is
- onvif / rtsp support -
Please be able to integrate with existing Reolink NVR systems. Also, a wireless indoor plug in chime, like Arlo has with their doorbell. If a separate basestation is needed like Arlo and Eufy, that’s fine as long as it integrates into a Reolink NVR.
-
that sounds great! was about to replace my existing cheap-arse amazon one which is hopelessly slow with RING, but since I've already several other 810a camera in place, I will wait and won't go the RING / EUFY way.
-
The most important would be a direct bell transformer connection for power and using the bell wired in this line. This works very well with the Ring 2 - a better WLAN, NVR integration and faster connection to the mobile phone would be great. Then I would definitely replace the existing ring...
-
I'm tired of paying a yearly fee for my doorbell camera so I did a search and found this thread searching for a Reolink doorbell camera. The two most important features I'm interested in are:
1) It becomes available soon.
2) It works reliably. -
I'm really looking forward to this offering. Can't wait to see it when it's released.
-
Apple HomeKit is a very secure system when compared with Alexa. Please also make a compatible version to work with HomeKit.
-
@reolink-fiona, I too am so excited for this new camera option, and as well would be interested in beta-testing. I have an NVR, and would prefer a POE option if available. I know that market is likely smaller, but if it still happens, I'd be willing to beta test for reolink with whatever data you need collected. Thank you all for bringing this to market!
-
This looks awesome! I've been on the lookout for a good video doorbell for over 3 years now. I'm not impressed by anything on the market. My experience with Reolink cameras has been fantastic, and I reckon they could create a great video doorbell.
My primary wishlist is:- bracket for installing on vertically-angled surfaces (e.g. weatherboard/clapboard/siding/cladding) – this is difficult to get for many doorbells, hence a lot of people can't use them
- reliable, low latency notifications and recordings (so I see the person's face and not the back of their head)
- no (or at least a very cheap) subscription – I don't want to be locked into paying hundreds of dollars over the lifetime of the device just to get essential features
- integrations: Webhooks, IFTTT, SmartThings (with SmartApps like WebCoRE), Home Assistant, etc.
- see the person's whole body and packages left on the ground
- good vision in dark/night and brightness/glare
- use Google/Alexa smart speakers as chimes, with the ability to mute/DND at night
- view and talk through a Google Nest Hub
- view and save recordings going back 1 week
- motion detection with configurable zones
- package delivery detection
- trainable face detection
- powered by existing doorbell wiring or battery

@sridhar_283777405378721 Adding to my previous post, I suggest that you consider support for the emerging Matter standard, which should ensure interoperability with devices from Google, Amazon, Apple and others. I'd include a link to it, but your forum software doesn't permit me.

Hello,
I.m also in the need of a reolink doorbell camera, I already have 5 4k camera's and the 8 channel nvr.
I prefer a POE option. (only wifi is a no go for me)
When will the doorbell be available in the EU (Netherlands)

@mwhsmit6_478907306807478 Hi there, the available time is unknown now. When it is available, I will make an announcement. Stay tuned with us!
-
Please add time lapse like Ring. Other than that, you covered the major points but if can you make a 4k option as well, you would really stand out from competitors and maybe add an in app siren option also. I have had to reposition my existing doorbell cam higher so it captures a head-to-toe image. It would be great if the vertical FOV was close to 180 so the doorbell could stay in its original more aesthetic position.
